@@anitaferreira8091 I am still very much a Christian, and as one I am asking you sister to please truly consider what you are into. Scripture warns of false prophets and idols and all sorts of evil in the world that use Him. In hindsight a few years after, the ICC was made up of some very very kindhearted people. The problem is the behavior of them. They insisted I donated to their church and not in small amount, even as a very young man that needed money to survive and was struggling financially. They told me as a military man that I should try and evade an upcoming deployment to the Middle East I had by telling my chain of command I couldn’t deploy because of religious reasons. They showed up to my home unannounced multiple times after I stopped coming to their services and insisted I try and come live with them and also distance myself with anyone not in the Church. A grand majority of the people in this organization are kindhearted and want to be disciples, but the heads of the organization are taking advantage of the good will and desire to be good Christians of normal people. Please be very careful

It happened to me!!! They all creeped me out! I felt forced to do 6am calls! They kept track of everyone who they would “recruit” and I heard them say something about a girl who cut them off because she felt like they pushed her boundaries !!! And I see what they mean now! They love bombed me so much ! And made me think I had bad problems and addictions that I didn’t have!!! They really messed me up spiritually and I don’t think they realize that :/ they don’t know boundaries at all!!

Your videos helped me break free of this cult before getting too involved ! I finished all the studies including the cross and the baptism study and they are way too intense and its so true that they think only what they practice is right. They still text me from time to time but they know im onto them and did my research so they are starting to back off . but your videos are saving many peoples lives! they are super culty in that they pressure their potential members to disconnect with their family or “love them less” than God/their church. I think this is crazy I love God but I am not gonna stop taking care of my family just to attend their events 3-4 times a week!

It is not uncommon to meet 3-4 times a week with this type of group unless you go to a version that they would consider to be "lukewarm." When I was involved, though admittedly it was the ICC not ICOC, there was church on Sunday, Midweek (mens'/womens' alternated every other week) on Wednesdays, Bible/Life Talks (on campus group bible studies with a watered down version of their teachings to publically appear to be a normal religious group; these were also a great lures to make people feel comfortable in a group setting then ask them "when are you going to study the bible?" or get different people to ask them until they agree to it), and Devo on Friday. These were just the standard/expected 3-4 “meetings of the body” per week not including house/”family” meetings, group tagging/recruiting (meeting somewhere, usually on campus, and giving everyone a goal of the number of people they have to talk to or get in a bible study this week) or the occasional holiday or group date. It can easily turn into being booked 6 out of 7 days of the week with that group. And of course none of it is just little 45 min meet ups. It would easily be at least 2 hrs. Man, and church would be an all day thing! Carpool to get there early, help set up/socialize, church, (PLEASE, DON’T LET THERE BE A BAPTISM,) lunch (which I could not afford every freaking week; they ate out WAY too much for a broke college kid lol), leadership meeting (I’d get stuck at since I did not have transportation), then MAYBE get to go home with whoever could drive me. It was exhausting to say the least. I was a full time student and working just enough hours to support myself financially as there was no one providing my cost of living and university fees. I was also involved in extracurricular activities, one of which I was an officer for, and had those schedules drawn up well before being roped into this group. I also did not have transportation at the time, so A LOT of my day was spent walking/commuting to all the places I needed to get to. It was hard enough trying to get to/figure out how to get to (without transportation) all these “meetings of the body” but to also be socially/biblically pressured (being told I was “not putting the kingdom first” or “seeking god with all my heart”) was it for me! I was spreading myself thin and to be told it was not good enough? Attending, “shows your heart/your character,” they would say all the while not knowing/disregarding what I was going through just to be able to make one meeting. Sorry this was long, but if anyone reading this is struggling with making all of their arbitrary meetings do not let them tell you that you are any worse for simply not being able to attend (or shoot being too exhausted physically/mentally/socially to). It DOES NOT show your heart/character by being at every single meeting/event. Some people are there pretentiously or are there miserably. Some people really want to be there but are unable to be. Despite what they think and say, they DO NOT know your heart.

The priciples Christianity is based on are confusing. They say they don't belive in ABOTION; BUT THE BIBLE DOES: Numbers 21:11-31 21. here the priest is to put the woman under this curse-“may the LORD cause you to become a curse[b] among your people when he makes your womb miscarry and your abdomen swell. 22 May this water that brings a curse to enter your body so that your abdomen swells or your womb miscarries.” You probably say you only believe in the New Testament, however, in Matthew 5:17-20 Jesus says: 17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets( Moses included); I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

I’m just looking for strong Christian church that upholds to the Bible’s teachings. I had an ICC member reach out to me to study the Bible. I said sure Bc I love reading gods word and learning more about his word. I did start seeing some red flags like the “one true church”. They also said you absolutely have stay in the ICC community. I also asked if they believed other Christians were saved and they shy’d away from the question. I’m 6 bible studies in, and I’m just not totally certain. They uphold to the Bible and I like that. The cult characteristics are alarming. I just don’t know what to do. I just want to be right with god and find a good Christian church

You don’t need a church to study the Bible with you. That’s indoctrination. If you can read, you can study it yourself. Trust me, I was recruited by this church while in college. Slowly but surely they pressure you to spend more time with the church to the point where your grades will suffer and you eventually see less and less of your friends and family. Watch the red flags and run!

Launching a ministry with Cru. Met these guys on campus and exchanged numbers just to plan a meeting to get to know them and their organization. The leader pushed Bible studies and church which I appreciated the invitation. Actually, now that I think about it many members ran up to me on campus as I walked by. Like a nervous competition. Anyways, I set up a meeting with just the leader to get to know him respectfully as we both will be on the same campus. Behold! Another person was there taking notes in a Bible study. Behold! The notes were taken for me. 😅. The Bible study was fine. I went to his church to visit but emphasized I serve with my church and already a dedicated member. Lots of people who seemingly love the lord and good acoustic music. I finally got to looking at his doctrine and organization and found out I wanted nothing more to do with his meetings so I told him. He was not happy! Said that god sent him to save me from hell. Was a bit of a heated talk. Nonetheless, I’m happy to serve on a ministry with better principles

a church member that I was doing Bible study with essentially asked me why I kept coming for the church gatherings they held because I was not completely ready to get baptized. My intuition told me that I should continue to watch and observe these people because it seems as if when you get baptized, you are now fully part of them. When you get baptized they reveal more stuff to you that other unbaptized members know nothing about. That's sus. And because I was not completely ready to get baptized and I had not mentioned anything about my baptism in a long while, he literally told me to take a month off from coming to the gatherings. I was shook. Who gave you the right to prevent me from coming to church gatherings? At that point I knew that these people were a joke. One month off finna turn into a lifetime off! I'm actually done.

Oh wow, this reminds me of the days when I was working with this guy back in college and (I'm not going to say he was an ICOC member because I can't remember the exact title) but he did mention they were a diverse church who was also international. Anyway, he had this deep passion for the bible. In the beginning, he was a cool dude and fun to talk to, but overtime it became more and more uncomfortable communicating with him at our campus job. It started off with him inviting me to come to the bible studies, but I couldn't honestly because I had to hightail over to my 2nd job in the evening time. At first it was cool, he was understanding but overtime he became more aggressive. He started speaking about the bible more and more at work and it became just, uncomfortable working with him. He kept mentioning the rapture was coming, and would you be prepared? And I would keep saying yes. But he kept asking more paranoid questions like "Are you sure?" Yeah, I'm positive. Then one day, a tragedy took place where one of the student's got killed at a party on campus and I was so sad about what happened only because, even though I didn't knew the victim personally, I knew other students would have known him. I spoke to him about it and he just started laughing about it saying he was a sinner, he got what he deserved, he's in hell and everyone that was there that night at that party are on there way too. I literally jumped up and lashed at him stating he had no right placing the victim in hell and that he was innocent, not to mention, we also had a 3rd co worker who was there that night and witness the whole thing before running for her life, I literally got up and walked away from him to the other side angry making the decision not to speak to him again, only in passing. It was an experience I'll never forget and honestly, I would not recommend anyone join any sort of organization involving religion away from your family's home because you just never know, what you are getting yourself into.

How did you feel controlled? God gave everyone free will. So you chose to do what you did. You chose where you reside when you die. No one chooses it for you and forces it upon anyone. If I had the cure for HIV and AIDS, would you not want me to share it to you, so you can be cured from the dieses? Trying to use your analogy, god creates man with a sinful nature (the disease). Tells man that disease makes them worthy of eternal damnation and the suffering of hell. Tells them there's a cure and the god has it. Then tells them they can only have the cure if they praise and worship the god. So what exactly is the god saving man from? The god's own condemnation and wrath. How, generous 🙄 What options do you have? Praise and worship the god for the cure to the disease they created OR suffer in hell for eternity. How is that not duress? God says, "I'm holding hell and damnation up to your head and ready to pull the trigger, but I totes won't if you promise to love me. It's your choice, though." lol again...how, generous 🙄 Also, if you had a cure to a disease (like I am assuming you think you do and feel the need to share it), would you demand people worship and praise you (like god does) or worship some higher being (the one you endorse) just to be given access to it? Why not just give it freely with no demands for praise? None of this sounds very benevolent. The contempt for the supposed "diseased" nor the withholding of a treatment that is only administered with strings attached.The whole set up seems questionable and controlling to me. The god and the people who peddle this message.

@@likethacheese Well, you can be cured from the disease, but would you do whatever it takes to stay cured or be plagued by the disease again? You have to remain cured by doing things to not go back from getting the disease. A perfect example is having breast cancer. Once you are in remission, would you want the cancer to return? No So with that, you gotta do whatever it takes to stay in remission and not have the cancer return. That is the same with worshipping and praising God. Once saved, you would do whatever it takes to stay saved, which includes worshipping and praising God.

Thank you so much for making this video! My brother recently began attending an ICC affiliated church and based on how he began acting, I immediately knew he was involved in a cult. I did some research and my suspicions were correct. I was once part of a church cult myself (it was NOT affiliated with this ICC/ICOC, but they have very similar controlling behaviors, judgmental culture, “we are the TRUE church” mindset, false doctrines and erroneous and incorrect interpretations of scripture). It’s so damaging and in the end pushes people farther from God, rather than drawing them near. The Bible is clear about the consequences for those who draw people away from Christ. These folks are dangerous. But anywho... I’m very concerned and praying for my brother. I’ve been 8 years removed from the cult I was involved in, and I’m still healing from the residue of the spiritual abuse I endured. I thank God that I eventually joined a church community that is healthy and preaches SOUND doctrine. Because after that mess, I thought I was DONE with God. I don’t want my brother to go through that at all... These churches/groups are disgusting and harming people spiritually! It’s not right and it angers me! I pray for those who have been caught up in these types of churches, and hope they start the journey toward healing. Know the word of God for YOURSELF, and don’t allow anyone to spiritually bully you. Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is FREEDOM(NOT control, bondage or intimidation. And if you don’t feel free (at any church affiliated with this ICC or one with cult-ish tendencies) leave ASAP!

I am a student at auburn university and this group got so many complaints from students that the university banned them off campus and sent out a public notice about the group. Had never heard of it until a friend told me it was ICC and I instantly searched KZbin and saw your video. Definitely what you said is what they were doing. Also they were selling homemade baked goods which was an instantly university red flag bc they DO NOT PLAY when it comes people not selling university approved/partnered products. This is the relevant subject matter of the email: Campus Safety & Security received numerous reports last week about a group on campus trying to engage with students under false pretenses. While misrepresenting themselves as Auburn students, these individuals were approaching students with home-baked cookies for sale and encouraging students to participate in activities with their group. As a result, the individuals were banned from Auburn University properties.

very cultish, so i’m a christian and actually attend Liberty University. but had to come home for quarantine and had no fellowship so i looked for zoom bible studies and ran into one ran by the icc. i study christian leadership and church ministry and the the leader invited me to join a bible study with their pastor. they started taking scriptures out of context and told me that my salvation was phony and tried getting rid of my understanding of baptism. now most denominations are up to interpretation, but they explicitly said they were the truth and mirror the early church. but they ain’t anything like the early church 😂. i was reading Galatians 5 and it’s about walking according to the law or by the spirit and icc is trying to obey the law, which is the exact opposite of the the church should be, that’s the danger Jesus told the pharisees. whitewashed tombs, the icc told me become a disciple, then repent then be baptized. that’s not what God is saying, He’s saying repent because I love you. repent because you care for your life because i cared for it first. being baptized is a step of obedience because you LOVE Christ. the Good News is spread through love, which gentle, kind, self control, peace and joy. not through pride or control of others, but through leading by example. the enemy is the greatest theologian, and i’m so glad that nothing in heaven or hell or earth can seperate me from God’s hand. very deceptive people, they tried luring me in with free college tuition and to become an intern to possibly be a pastor 😂. bruh ik the gifts God has given me and it’s not pastoralship

YESS!! Being a Christian and highly sensitive person, I had red flags but couldnt pin point what exactly was wrong with what they were saying at the time. They questioned my salvation, and later when i wanted to stop doing the bible studies, they employed narcissistic behavior by denying that they hurt me and only wanted to help me. So unhealthy. Its difficult because their bible studies appear to be normal bible studies at first.

@@athenasmith5866 Well actually my friend, I was just explaining Law vs. Gospel while not fully understanding my identity in Christ at that point in my walk with the Lord. I was still heavily damaged. If you believe in Christ, He gives us a new spirit and the Holy Spirit to love Him and out of our repentance "changing of ways" we obey Him. Jesus gives us a New Identity being wrapped up in Him, the physical Resurrected Savior. That we identify with Him in His death and New Life that we no longer have to achieve God, BUT that God comes to us in OUR weakness so that we may know Him and our ways be changed through His strength. Also, to anyone struggling with their identity in Jesus, just know that Christ bridged the gap for you to reconcile us back to the Father and know Him eternally, and you are not a waste of space, Christ does not want your money- but just your broken heart to cause you to repent and trust in Him as Lord alone. You literally stole the speech of some Christian groups on my college campus😂. I just finished my first year of college, and I had to cut off a bible study group. All first semester they got everyone into their group through free food offers, but soon I realized that they were not only problematic but extremely clingy and prodding. If I went, they expected me to share personal info during the Bible study. If I skipped, I got a text asking where I was. When they announced an intensive second semester program, I walked away and never looked back.

I came across one of these at the University of Cincinnati. But I was a little more skeptical. I was 24 years old. I wanted to bad to trust them I went to many bible studies and hung out at events but deep down I knew something was off. I never allowed myself to get into deep because at the end of the day I was there to handle my business and graduate. I just stopped hanging around those people when I started questioning if they were really my friends or not. I didn’t have time for it. To much money at stake for my education to be messing around with them.

I became a born again Christian in 1983, when I received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in deep repentance. This occurred during an evangelistic meeting at a Baptist church in Toronto, Canada. Then, in the Fall of 1984, I started my first year of university. As a very new Christian, I was quite active at my Baptist church, attending worship services, fellowships and doing personal devotions. I was even attending a Christian fellowship group on campus. Then one day, in my second year, an attractive female student approached me to attend a Bible Study. Being very enthusiastic to spiritual things at the time, (but also being male and approached by this very attractive female), I immediately agreed to attend this Bible Study later that night. I agreed without asking about the organization that was hosting this Bible Study. That was my mistake. (I later found out that it was The Church of Christ. ) But even if I had asked about the hosting organization, it wouldn't have made much of a difference, because there was no Internet at the time to look up what The Church of Christ was. And so I went to the Bible Study. Let me tell you, that that Bible Study turned out to be the most fearful spiritual experience (with people, that is) that I have ever had in my life. As I was going home after the Bible Study, I seriously thought that I was going to hell that night. Here's what happened. The topic of the Bible Study was "Hell". The speaker used the parable of the Rich man and Lazarus, from Luke 16. He said, " I decided that tonight I was going to talk about Hell". Later, he said "The rich man (in his self indulgence in luxury) reminded me of (a certain character from the movie Star Wars, who apparently appeared slob like in the film)". As it was a long time ago, I don't remember a lot of what was said during that Bible Study. Nevertheless, I remember him saying " every unsaved person", and asking "Has anyone ever been burnt by fire?". There is nothing wrong with talking about Hell, as Hell is real. Jesus Himself talked about Hell. But what troubled me was that the Bible Study just left you hanging there with the fear of Hell. There was no mention of what the Lord Jesus Christ did to save us from Hell. I thought that that was very strange. Therefore, I asked the minister, who was present, " What is the implication of this message? He said to me, "I take it that you're a believer. I don't believe in "once saved always saved". " Then came The Bomb. He showed me a verse from the New Testament, that left me shaking in fear. (I don't wish to quote it here, unless the reader is prepared to take time to do some study, so to understand IN CONTEXT what the passage means. That is, I don't want to leave you with a faulty understanding of the verse and suffer from fear needlessly.) As I had not studied that part of Scripture before, I immediately misinterpreted that to mean that every little sin was going to send me to Hell. Before I left, I must have expressed my concern, and had made an appointment with the minister to meet him on another day to talk further. But even by the time I left the Bible Study, I had not heard the Good News of Jesus Christ (i.e. from the speakers at the Bible Study). All I was left with was the fear of going Hell, and that's where I thought I was going that night.

After thinking about this traumatic experience, I decided NOT to meet the minister. But had I gone to meet him, surely he would have "done me in". I would probably have been convinced to join the CoC. Or if I didn't join, I would have probably been more traumatised by fear of Hell and by doubt of whether my salvation was real.

Actually all churches a mind-controlling Institutions. I came from a Catholic upbringing, which I left after seeing what Priest do with people's offering. I met a Coc got baptised 1st 3 months or so are normally fine. Then doctrine comes where you are forced to separate yourself from all your loved ones because the bible says do not yoke with non-believers. People are forced to go back to the oldest memory they had and confess sin (opening up old wounds) and playing on their emotions. When you in if you think they care. Students were sometimes told not to go home for summer break because they were not strong enough to convert their families. I remember a single mom who was really struggling with 2 kids and they would guilt-trip her into walking long miles to church. Before she got baptised there was always a sister picking her up. Now she was told she must seek first the Kingdom and she will be blessed. My dad was out of work and I had to help my mom with my brother financial which meant I had to reduce my offering. The told me that was a sin because I had to seek first,,,,,,,I believe charity begins at home so I left. Even their bible says if your brother is hungry and you say I pray for you and not meet his material needs when you that makes you a hypocrite. Then went to UPI in Germany, same confusion different county. Now I'm done.

In my younger days, I was under the impression that you had to "get all your sins out of the way, so when you get older, you can follow God?!" Following God dosen't mean you have to be 80... besides... college students typically dont make as much money since they're in school so if you're thinking the church is on a monetary tip, they would be recruiting in the wrong area. As a disciple, your job is to make other disciples.. everything is written in the book of life, Bible. Lol no hard feelings towards your video.. just stating my opinion.

I can't tell if you're part of an ICC/ICOC "church" or if you're just a very young person from another church who doesn't realize the dangers of cults. Believe it or not the enemy can use MANY things for evil, including creepy behavior masqueraded as love. What they teach is not in the bible, by the way. They say that you need to be baptized with water to be saved but read Romans chapter 10 verse 9 to see how that's not true. There are many other things but I won't list them all. It was a bible study with three of their members and only one of me - so there were multiple studies when it was just all three of them guilt-tripping me for my different views. I should have quit the studies right when they purposely made me question my (life-long) Christian faith. But because God is so good, my Bible reading today happened to start on Romans (it was definitely not a coincidence). It was God giving me confirmation that my salvation is through faith - NOT works, not evangelizing, or water baptism. FAITH. And your comment here is just added confirmation of that biblical TRUTH.

I actually don't even know how to respond except saying something that other people (especially non-christians) will probably think of as overly religious, and that is: glory to God! It's almost a little freaky how many "coincidences" start happening when we truly live because of Jesus. I grew up in a Christian home and really did love God, but there is a lot of tradition that gets in the way, I think, when we just tell kids to "accept Jesus into their heart" and not guide them through their journey and encourage questions. Baby baptism is wrong because it doesn't invlove a concious choice to believe that Jesus died on the cross. Yet we basically do the same thing by not making sure the children of Christians grow up and make their own choice to follow the Lord. Part of it too (the biggest part) was my own decisions I made, which seperated me from the Lord. Long story short -- I went through all of school never speaking about my faith to anyone outside of church/family, and never even commenting on KZbin etc about anything to do with Christianity. I cared too much about what other people thought. Especially towards the last year of high school (and on past that), I concentrated too much on dreams of what I wanted my career to be, and my body image. After graduating I focused even more on just myself -- not seeing it that way at the time -- and became extremely depressed (a word that's often misused, but yeah...), and eventually extremely anxious as well, among other things. But now I know God was able to use all that to lead me back to Him. I had a lot of pride and an overactive imagination, which would've always gotten in the way if it weren't for Him working in my life. It was a slow and painful process, but just this August of 2020 I broke down and finally understood what it truly means to repent. He helped me overcome 2 big delusions (or unrealistic dreams) I had, and wierdly enough, I don't care so much about stuff I never thought would lose sway over me. I said "long story short" but I guess it was more of a long story shortened to a story that isn't _as_ long. Heh. But I wanted to share so that this will make more sense in context: In the same way that God used my comment to confirm something for you, He has used yours to confirm something for me. I can't help commenting or replying to certain things ever since August, but I've been worried that it's something I shouldn't do, since communication is so much less prsonal when it's not face-to-face. And in some cases that may be true, but we really need to pray about everything and anything, even things as seemingly mundane as online interactions -- when to respond and when to let it be. Anyways, sorry for the long reply, but thank you very much for yours!

Oh my gosh! I'm doing the bible studies right now! The next one is the cross and I have to make a list of all my sins and now I'm reading online that they will use them against you in the future if you don't follow their rules. I have been struggling and discussing it with the girls because they studies say if you arent baptized you arent saved and if you're not a disciple you're not a christian and having faith that Jesus died for our sins is not enough. And the only way to recieve the holy spirit is through baptism!! Ugh I'm so conflicted, my aunt suggested I look up the church and this is what I find?!?! My heart dropped, dont get me wrong these people are amazing and loving and not once have they tried to push people out of my life like some sources say..not yet anyway. I didn't think anything of the fact that all the sisters live together and the brothers live together until now. I've been debating going on with the next study, the relationships I've made are so amazing but I dont believe some of the things they are teaching! They seem genuine and when I was questioning things they told me to tell them why bc if it's not right then they want to know too and I actually woke up thinking that I need to prove to them that is it wrong. I mean unless my understanding of the bible is wrong and the only way to recieve the holy spirit is in fact through baptism, but I definatly struggle with them telling me in not a christian or saved yet because I havent been baptized! I have a lot of praying to do if anyone has any more input I would greatly appreciate it.

Pray to God with your whole trust in Him to help you understand His word first so that you can be firm and confident to present what God speaks to you. Do not feel obliged to answer any question that digs down to your personal relationship with God. Maybe, God allowed you to experience this so that you may be able to build a strong foundation of faith that no one can break. Please pray always for wisdom to understand the Bible contextually. Remember we have only one Creator and Savior and He wants us to seek unity among churches. I experienced the same thing and that's why Im telling u this. Tell them honestly about your feeling to avoid future conflict. Seek peace if possible but if things get out of control, leave. God bless you :).

They abruptly stopped talking to me and the only one who would reply was the group leader trying to get me to continue. One person I told told me she quit and that it is definitely about control, and quilting ppl into tithing crazy amounts, and getting people to finish studies and get baptized bc that is more numbers for them and high status. She confirmed everything that the articles and documentaries were saying and that the reason the other members cut me out was bc they are told not to let themselves be polluted by people with opposing beliefs. I was sad bc these people are taught to love bomb new members and make them feel included, there was a time that they wouldn’t at least text me kind words and verses and ask when our next meet up is every day and in one day that all stopped. I’ve definitely been praying for them. For anyone else who reads this please beware of the ICC “International Church of Christ” “International Cristian Church” “City of Angels” God bless you!

I was a member, was love bombed of course, even the father of my child was "baptized" then we were married, I was left with 3 babies, 2 with special needs, I was told if I left the church I would destroy my children, when all my income was cut and my children were taken by cas, not because of abuse or neglect but because their needs on paper looked like way too much for a single mother to handle, promises of support or love were broken, I ended up in hospital with broken heart syndrome, I still reached out and not one of them answered, its worse than attempted murder , not to mention the sexual abuse to children, children who grew up and some who took their own lives, its despicable,

So I’m actually in the ICC as I write this comment, I’m looking to leave because I have been feeling uncomfortable for the year that I have been in the group. I was also been in their study series twice. First disclaimer is they courage me to read bible and be close to God is not something that is wrong. BUT, something else in their teaching was off. Why? they use verse of bible about the kingdom of God out of context to try to control people to the level where people will feel that these guys are just different. The way they controlling people is just too extra, because what they think of seek for the kingdom of God is just to gather with them. I am a college students, i believe God entrusts me this obligation as student, and my study is a field for me to glorify Him. But they indirectly force me to quit my required lab in school and to against and skip something required i my academic to attend gathering. While something that must is notbgather with them, but keeping ur relation with GOD stable and good.

Last week I was approached by one of those people inviting me to the Bible Study, he was very friendly so I went on and it was short and sweet, he said they were only meeting once a week. Well, the next day he texted me again saying that they're studying bible again that day, so I went again. After study he asked me to do one on one studying where he showed me some Bible passages, it was cool too but then he said there would be a service later that day and I should come, he will even give me a ride. I told him I have too much homework, so he asked to go on Friday. I didn't feel like wasting my Friday on his church so I canceled, then he asked to come in on Sunday, I told him I was too tired from long week at school and just wanted to chill, he texted me again today asking if I am free tomorrow...at this point I just ghosted him, it just feels unnatural and way too pushy. I am the Russian Orthodox, our church never ever recruits and never ever insists you join the service, in our Church, you come whenever your soul is calling you even if you want to come just once in five years. The doors are always open in our church and none will ever try to convince you how this Church is different, no one will ask you to read the Bible every day or judge you for your "sins". I love my Orthodox Church, but this ICOC sounds like some sketchy cult to me...no Thanks!

I’m a current member of the ICOC, and to be honest I did have concerns and questions when seeing these kinds of videos online. They didn’t match my experience and were confusing to me in my faith. The church I am a part of in Texas does a great job of addressing the ICOC’s shortcomings in the past and the way some people have been hurt by it. They have made clear communication about how they are trying to better lead congregations in a healthy, spiritual way. Iam a member of the icc during the time of kip mckean their over all leaders, in 1997 but year 2000 downfall of kip mckean and his wife elena mckean starts, and majority of their leaders join to their mother church icoc and many of their leaders start to seperate to kip mckean. During my membership i lost my fiance and my education in colleges stop because of the brotherhood and sisterhood found in this church. But after a year i saw the greedy of money and power, and preston sheppered their top evangelist transfer to born again churchv that criticised during his time in icc.

Conlussion, this church is armenian styles believe in put into practice or called personal conviction, or used owned strength to fight sins, in this church are not annoited by the holy spirits baptism. As a former member. I found a new church which believe in save by grace of God, water baptism and holy spirit baptism. Not extreme but complete the victory Christian fellowship and all born again group with the same doctrine. I believe in good sides of armenian to doctrine and good side of calvenist doctrine.

This is sad. Now it's not other faiths but even "Christians" that become stumbling blocks. I wonder how many people here would stop "Jesus from recruiting?" Literally, is that not the call? (Matthew 18:20). I will preach. If you don't want to join. You are free to do so and your choice will be respected. But woe to me if I listen to any man and stop sharing my faith. And woe to the person who causes the little ones of his to stumble. (Matthew 18:6). If you had a bad experience. I'm sorry to hear. It shouldn't be about people. I respect Jehova Witnesses, and Mormons though I disagree with their faith. They have the convictions to spread their message and recruit. But even though look at this world. @@TinaMarieJ what God calls sharing faith we put the label of recruitment on it to give it a negative connotation. Love, this world is fighting for us through everything and everyone. We will make choices following things and people. I choose to follow Christ and I am in the ICC. I have my freedom. Are there things that can be done to improve? Of course, I'm just a mere woman but where ever you go, you will come face to face with the same struggle. Churches who won't hold you accountable and those that will. And how you see them will be up to you.

Ultimately, what it boils down to is the condition of our souls when we stand before God. And I agree that there are other sold out Christians outside of our movement. I personally, don't claim we are the only ones. Again, I am sorry for your experience. I hope you had the opportunity, to bring those reservations and questions forth, and hopefully, if biblical, we are working on growing and becoming more like Christ.... the reason I mentioned stumbling blocks is because many times people who leave because of their own sins, faithlessness and bitterness try to speak against us. I'm sure you met some loving sold out christians in the church as well. But their efforts are tainted but the negative things that are said. Yet again, we can't control people as everyone is entitled to share their thoughts. I just hope some times people reflect on their self, take responsibility and hold church accountable. But I only see people hold the church accountable and few take responsibility for their own actions. I respect when people say "I went to this place and it wasn't for me." It was simple and didn't tear anyone down.

I don’t place my value on any of those things, there’s so much more to me than belief and religion. I answer all these questions in my videos but for your clarification, yes I’m married still, nope not a Christian and that’s my choice, and no I have no convictions because I feel no guilt for anything to feel convicted over. And I don’t believe in being “saved” because I don’t believe I am in trouble. In my final assesment as an 18 years member, the good sides is disciplined and brotherhood its like a fraternity but no physical initiation except for psycholgical attack, this church is belong to extreme christian armenian doctrine, believe in water baptism, after i seperate from this church i transfered in victory christian fellowship, but the big different is victory believe in holy spirit baptism which i encountered, while icoc and icc disregard have no experience in holy spirit baptism.

Maybe it could be better if you put your experience or something like that in the title because not all campus ministry are the same. A lot of people may agree because they probably fell away or something so little was something so big for them to where they simply couldn’t (put Jesus first). The video can discourage someone who wants to be apart of any church from seeing this video. God knows our hearts and everything behind the scenes and if someone feels pressured or anything then common sense is really a tool we got for free

I am not a ICC member and came across someone who said he is a member. Nothing wrong with people caring about your salvation. I believe in the bible and have studied psychology and you are not providing any true, cult signs. Faith comes from hearing and hearing the word of Christ so maybe that's why all the bible studies.. Just sounds like you do not have true, saving faith and have many idols in your life. Repent and get right with God and don't lean on your own understanding.

i don't agree of people saying it's a cult. people are human beings no one is perfect not even me. i've had my share of issues and scandles in Church but that doesn't stamp it as a cult. in my opinion different denominations have different outlooks of the Bible but that doesn't mean our outlook is cultish.

The outlook isn’t cultish- the behaviors are. And I understand you may not abreast and that’s fine, but there are people who’ve been through some serious emotional and mental trauma from your church. Most loyal member say what you did- no human is perfect. We aren’t seeking perfection as expected-members. People deserve respect & freedom to make their own choices on their personal lives (relationships, children, careers, schooling, etc). It’s about respect. the deception and cult like practices are what make it cultish. I will say though what urgency for salvation looks like is Acts chapter 2; 3000 people were saved after hearing a single sermon. Or the Eunuch after a single conversation with Phillip. There was no 8 part study series done over a few weeks; that’s not urgency for salvation, that’s indoctrination into a rigid religious system that overreaches, adds conditions to one’s salvation, and resembles the Pharisees more than the Early Church

The ICC I go to albuquerque international church to some people it's controlling but it's not it's the true church and God's people call out people's sin and that's amazing I rather be in the church then get an std or hurt or killed gods grace 🙏

ICOC and ICC are not basically the same you should consider the 1st century Christians and what occurred to the church when central leadership was not biblically followed. Not sure what happened in your experience vbut shows mercy on who he showds mercy upon. Persecution to sound doctrine with come, i was have been a member of both churches. Do you know what defines a cult in the eyes of the Lord? We reach out to people to invite them to Bible Talks. If they want to come it is their choice. We do not force anyone to study the Bible or become Christians. If you did not want to study, you should spoken up for yourself and said no. Honestly from what I've been hearing you didnt really understand our mission statement nor the word of God. Speaking I'll about any church as a whole is never right. Just because some people within it hurt you does not give you the right to speak ill of the church itself. If you want to leave, leave. And get your facts straight about what a cult actually is before you start labeling things. I grew up in ICOC San Diego, left for 5 years and came back because I knew leaving was wrong. The Bible calls use to reconcile with those who have hurt us. I suggest you put that into practice.

Actually all churches a mind-controlling Institutions. I came from a Catholic upbringing, which I left after seeing what Priest do with people's offering. I met a Coc got baptised 1st 3 months or so are normally fine. Then doctrine comes where you are forced to separate yourself from all your loved ones because the bible says do not yoke with non-believers. People are forced to go back to the oldest memory they had and confess sin (opening up old wounds) and playing on their emotions. When you in if you think they care. Students were sometimes told not to go home for summer break because they were not strong enough to convert their families. I remember a single mom who was really struggling with 2 kids and they would guilt-trip her into walking long miles to church. Before she got baptised there was always a sister picking her up. Now she was told she must seek first the Kingdom and she will be blessed. My dad was out of work and I had to help my mom with my brother financial which meant I had to reduce my offering. The told me that was a sin because I had to seek first,,,,,,,I believe charity begins at home so I left. Even their bible says if your brother is hungry and you say I pray for you and not meet his material needs when you that makes you a hypocrite. Then went to UPI in Germany, same confusion different county. Now I'm done. If you want to be a confussed non-literal thinker stay Christian.
