Hey there, I just purchased the UniNet iColor 560. For the second press, does the T. Seal finishing sheet help with durability if the transfer is rasterized, black knocked out and pressed properly? Thanks for the video!

If you add up the time for dtg (press, pretreat, press, then take it to the machine and press when on the platen, then print. Then hover cure and press cure) time is actually about the same. And you can save time on icolor by printing all at once time, marrying all at one time and pressing in a batch.. by the time the last of a batch in pressed, the first ones are co enough to peel. Next is the limitation of dtg to cotton and some polyester, where laser is most substrates..cotton, polyester, nylon, lights, darks, mugs, hard surface like wood, metal, etc, with no surface treatment. Only downside is the half toning required for the more solid large graphics.. but smart design choices and keeping samples of solid vs adjusted art to show and educate clients can avoid much disappointment. There's also the near zero maintenance on the laser, and you can really let the machine sit for weeks without worrying about clogged lines or heads..

As someone who owns icolor550 my only regret Reyes, is I wish I would have spent the extra money for the Icolor printer that does 11x17 sheets instead of just the standard A4 sheets. Simply from a cost stand point. I know it has smart cut once u start using more sheets the higher ur cost.

I’m Interested in purchasing a icolor 550. My question is, Is the 8x11 large enough for T-shirt designs?

Did you know that you can decrease the cooling period by funneling cold air onto a piece of glass. By rapidly decreasing the temperature it makes the cooling. And the cold pill process much easier and cleaner without issues of tearing a transfer.

Hey Reyes, Can you purchase a cheaper Laser printer instead of an IColor 550? I saw some printers from HP that range at about $500 to $700, can these Laser Printer substitute IColor printers? Thank you!

Well, I would say it depends on your business model, and just where you're at. I work full time and I run my shirt business part time. Because my full time job is a fortune 500 company, I built my business to where I do alot of custom orders for them. In my situation, it would make sense to purchase the laser printer.. (i'm looking at the icolor 800) because I do not have to worry about maintenance, and corporations like to order a lot of Left chest logo designs. I've also have a tailored niched market that I've been servicing for the pass decade with the family reunions, like you said Reyes... these are one off shirts. However I would order transfers for the reunion shirts anyway because those are typically in the 100s in quantity, but small quantities I can run on my laser printer. I can also sell Memorial t-shirts to my reunion clients, as well as the Obituaries booklets, because I have a laser printer, I can buy a booklet attachment to my printer, and have a obituary set up going. My wife is starting a candle making business, and she will need labels for her candles, another thing I can print with my laser printer. I already have a plotter, two heat presses, and two cap presses. So depending on how your business and your life is set up, I think laser printing technology is designed for specific people who have special needs. I cannot make an investment into equipment that has to keep running, if I work a full time job, and only doing this part time. Now, I'm working on just providing custom apparel to my company full time, and getting a contract.... until that happens... I think Laser printing is the way to go for me. Everyone has to decide what works best for them. Laser printing transfers are great for one offs like family reunions, memorial t-shirts, and small left chest logos. Tote bags, Caps, etc., You just have to find a market for the technology.

Does anyone have an hourly rate to guide through the printing and marrying process?
@naturalhealthrevolution15183 жыл бұрын
Marrying is easy if you have the RIGHT heatpress. Besides that the rest is technique. Peeping too fast or too slow will cause issues. Also peel low to the ground. Most have issues marrying because they dont have the proper press

The I color is getting getting existing machines having there brand put on it offering financing they charging you extra for the machine an consumables. Look at the I color 250 and the primera lx610 for example. Why not just buy the machine from the origional manufacturer an save big money

What they don't tell you is you don't get the full ink so after possibly 260 prints you may start to run out so I would purchase backup toner. You do get the full white and clear toner which they say comes out to 7000 prints. Also get ready for the learning curve she makes it look so easy. You have to pay attention to humidity in the room or your prints will come out crappy also check your settings when you are printing. The slower the print the better. The toner prices are about $200 a piece so that's about $600 and the white and clear is about 500. Once you get past all that everything's gravy.

If you know what your doing you. Can get 50 plus washes and I'm not talking about air drying to dry. I'm talking about putting that baby in the dryer on low heat. If you have the bigger printer you can print 2 to 3 big big designs on one sheet. Marry ONCE and press them. With the bigger printer you can do shirts fast. Print....marry everything FIRST then press. With the little printer it is what it is

@@naturalhealthrevolution1518 I have the iColor 600. I’ve seen many people say it’ll take a few packs of paper til you get it down. It’s taken me over $2,000 worth of materials and things are still a hit or miss. Most of the issues have to do with the paper itself. Sometimes the marrying process doesn’t work right (I have a new Geo Knight heat press). Following instructions to the t still doesn’t make a difference...sometimes I have to do 20 degrees higher...sometimes 40 degrees lower. Sometimes even if the marrying worked great, the final step of pressing it onto the shirt may not work. Today, I had transfers get stuck onto the shirt. For absolutely no reason. I followed instructions exactly, have humidity controlled (which the Facebook group and support always claim to be the issue)...still had issues. Besides all that, support with iColor was a mess. When I contacted them about weird lines showing around my prints (cyan, magenta, or yellow lines) directly out of my print, the rep blamed the print on my windows not being updated. That didn’t fix the problem. To this day I still have issues with this. It’s just been an overall mess and has been my biggest regret.
