Rich, what i communicated to Norbert was i had experience with software development and verification. There is an AutoAFC under a pull down menu. This appears to me to be a Master. The reason why I say that is part observation and part his instructions. The 2nd AFC is a Manual Override on the front screen. But if Auto is On the Red lines are bouncing around all the time. The red line not only indicate a strong recieved signal but it controls the frequency Offset of the Transmit signal. So for stability AutoAFC should be Off. ManualAFC should be turned Off and the red line should be dragged so signal is centered. The numbers (lower right corner) are the transmit frequency offset from what your rig is tuned to. Both recieved and transmitted frequencies are Offset by that value. It never occurred to me the transmit frequency could be modified. My AutoAFC was ON so the red lines were bouncing around causing my transmit frequency to bounce around. The red lines can be dragged with your mouse (up or down). But you need to turn Off Manual AFC on the front panel. I had 2 different contacts tell me I was Off frequency. One described needing to use RIT to correct my transmit signal. I know now but there is nothing in the MRP 40 instructions about this. What I did see was a comment the rig should be in SSB Not CW mode. 73. Peter

You know I never notice they bounce around but I am glad you told me about this. I turned off the AFC... The lines don't bounce. Why not in CW?

I liked your presentation. I'm just purchased mrp 40. I recieved many complaints about being off frequency. What I noticed was mrp 40 can modify your transmit frequency. I wrote the developer "Norbert". There is an Automatic AFC setting in a pull down menu which is a Master for that AFC function. The front panel Manual On/Off is a slave. So I had to turn off the Automatic AFC and select the manual On then move the placement of the red guide bars. Finish with turning Manual AFC Off so the red bars do not move during a QSO. That will allow the transmit freq to remain steady state during the contact. KA3GMV, Orlando Fl, Peter

@@RichRodgersOnline Rich, I suspect the version of mrp 40 is earlier then the v4.066 I'm using. I noticed that while watching your video. Check your version and upgrade if possible. What version did you use?

Rich, I believe CW mode the RIG is modulating a tome (i.e.800 hz). On SSB the RIG does NOT modulate this tome. MRP 40 has its own tone generation via the sound card interface. To avoid conflicting tones it is an important feature built into the functality of the software. This is yet another undocumented aspect of this system. Please check out any or all information I am providing. I'm very new to this situation are I'm sure I have made every mistake possible. Peter KA3GMV

Hi, Rich. I really enjoyed your video but I need some help. I have an ICOM IC-7100 and MRP4066. I have used the 7100 on all digital modes with no problem but I cannot get the 7100 to transmit (receiving via MRP4066 is fine) via MRP4066. I have tried serial port(s) and sound card settings with no success. I am able to use the 7100 on cw with a key no problem. I must be missing some setting. Anyway since you have your 7300 working fine with MRP40 and since it is similar to my 7100 I am wondering if you could give some help here. Any would be greatly appreciated. Alan KZ6B

Midas Effect I have started using freeware for receiving I use CW Decoder and transmitting I use WinWarbler I did like the MRP 40 I might get it anyway because of one program. Thank you for watching my video.

Peter Gore Seer, I Used A Manual De Cecoder, I Was Able To Read The Morse, As The Morse Was Poor, But You Dont Need All This. I Have Order A Simple Cw Coder. No Morse Is Very Hard To Read, Unles Auto Sender, The Morse Is Poor, Like Simple Text.
