From my experience last week I wouldn't exactly say that Bali is "poppin". Beach Walk Kuta and Icon Sanur are definitely the best malls, but so many of the others in areas such as Kuta and Seminyak are looking rather dismal and dilapidated. Some have even closed for good. But Icon is definitely worth checking out.

Hey Russell. Just an update on price of eggs 🥚 I paid $1.17 for a dozen eggs (12) at Safeway this morning. Not that huge difference anymore. I usually buy my eggs locally or at the farmers market, usually pay the $5 because I know the eggs are fresh from the hen house. Today I bought them at the grocery store because I’ve been busy. You can really taste the difference between farm fresh eggs and the ones I bought at the store. So it’s worth for me to pay the extra dollars for fresh eggs. But, yeh, the prices are pretty much the same, except you get 12 eggs instead of 10. There were so many eggs on cheap eggs at the grocery store that many of them were cracked. 😂 Turns out the egg supply problem had nothing to do with the sanctions, but it was bird flu virus 🦠 responsible for the egg shortages.

It's a beautiful shopping mall. Quite striking at spots. These kinds of places have their good and bad I agree. They bring in jobs for the local economy but often have the side effects of choking an already struggling infrastructure and environment. I personally wouldn't make this a destination if I were to go to Bali. When I'm away I don't look for malls to visit because they tend to have the same stores I have in my country. But nevertheless this is a gorgeous property.

@learning71407 ай бұрын
@@АНДРЕЙ3500Of course I know, I just didn't expect Indonesia to belong to the USA Empire, I expected it to have retained its own culture. The modern "international language" was proposed to be "Esperanto", but it didn't happen because the British Empire that controled most of the world trade (the pound sterling was used as reserve currency) was replaced by the American empire (and the dollar replaced the pound). However, in the lands under the control of the Russian Empire (replaced by the Soviet), the "international language" was Russian, not English, and the currency was the ruble! After the defeat of the USSR, the lands under its control replaced Russian with the language of the victor (English) and nobody uses rubles there anymore. It was even more impressive in countries that use the same script with Russian (for example, Bulgaria), where one would expect the people to keep learning Russian as a foreign language because it's easier, yet they replaced it with English despite the fact it's more difficult to learn.
@learning71407 ай бұрын
@@jimbotron70 No, I expect the official language to be used primarily and the foreign language to be added for the tourists! For example, the shop inscription in a touristic area would be in Indonesian, while the tourist language would be added next or underneath. But in this vid, all was in English only!

Living world is bigger, better and better selections, better pricing and far greater bigger than icon. Icon will become another kuta lippo mall befoe we know it. Over priced, expensive stuff like all the top brands. Bali is for the cheap, always was, always will be. Can’t beat fate. This is what the owner should of thought about. Plus it is already collasping with parts falling from the ceiling. Hate to be in there when it comes crumpling down on all those heads. Mark my word.
@Kebenaran-3697 ай бұрын
Agree on all of those points. Living World is twice the size of Icon by lettable floor space (despite Icon stupidly claiming to be the biggest mall in South East Asia where many malls have car parks bigger than Icon - perhaps the owners never heard of Google) and Icon is fast becoming deserted since the initial curiosity has worn off (I was in there today). They have made many poor management decisions like having none of the normal flagship stores such as Matahari, Ace Hardware, Uniqlo, or H&M (probably because the owners of those chains knew there would never be enough custom to justify it), they also have 14 or 15 vaguely boat shaped food stalls bolted to the floor in pools of water pretending to be a floating market (also nonsensically claimed to be the biggest in South East Asia) but no tables and chairs for anyone to sit at after buying food (several locals have told me that the food is way overpriced too). I checked out several shops and the prices were definitely higher than in Australia and most of the shops have only half the floor area of the ones in the other Bali malls so they have minimal choices as well. The one good thing is that the carpark is packed even if the shops aren't because everybody can park there for free in the shade and go to the beach instead of paying the Banjar parking fees and park in the sun as they have to in all of the surrounding beach approach roads 😄
