So I live in the U.K and if a lone man walked into a shop specifically designed for kids and started filming then the security guard is gonna have a serious word with you mate Did have to get permission or anything before filming?

What is missing is how the price of butter does match a typical income level all over Russia and I am not talking about the upper income levels in the Moscow and St. Petersburg regions here. From a high income horse it is always looks easy to say certain prices are o.k. Just ask "the other ones".

Perhaps in official documents it is now called the Central Children's Store, but for several decades everyone has been calling it only Детский Мир (Children's World).

Too bad American stores can't be that well stocked. They probably don't have the daily/weekly food recalls there also like America has been plagued with the last four years. Thank you for sharing.

There is a reason why most of the stores aren't busy, because ruble prices are very high. Most Russians don't speak English and are not talking to you or understand what you are doing.

That little hand door handle holding the scroll looks like something straight out of Harry Potter :D <edit> If somebody told me downtown Moscow doesn't have snow on the ground in late November I would have found that hard to believe but now I've seen it!

Even today it was snowing very lightly in the suburbs, but in the center of Moscow hardly anything. I was filming a new video today close by the door handle again.

Early the KGB building was named NKVD, which contain the GULAG department. But its only horror-tale, no more. Actually is the ordinary civil department for prisons management like Federal Bureau of Prisons in USA.

It's very civilized here. People are polite, they give way to each other as you walk somewhere. People hold doors open for each other.

What is online shopping like in Russia? As I was reminded that where I live what I could order online for less money and free delivery but the item is not available when I respond to the store ad online and actually go to the store. Store clerks are generally dismissive of customers and unapologetically explain that even if I ordered online it would be weeks before it arrived. I should say that most retail stores look just as they did during pandemic… totally depressing and a huge turnoff for consumerism. The world is on its way to a consumer decline… sad that this looks like desperate attempt to cling to the past. The number of customers is very telling… are they all in church?

@Sergey_BezhentsevСағат бұрын
@@TravellingwithRussell Actually, the correct word is "most" (bridge). The street "Kuznetsky Most" is so called because once there was a real bridge over the Neglinka river. But at the beginning of the 19th century the river was enclosed in an underground collector. The street level rose above the bridge and it was filled with soil, the space around it was built up with houses....

This place does now look dead. And talking about the "multibrand" stores, nobody knows if they are not selling for example Chinese copies of original brands. And certainly, for products which may appear to be original brand products, it is a good approach to never show current selling prices.

Why are you only going to apartment building stores and instantly converting prices in rubles to American dollars. You can't convert to a currency that Russians don't use or own without readjusting the price.
@TravellingwithRussellСағат бұрын
The 2 main currencies people brin g to Russia re USD or Euros. It's also a more worldwide currency to convert for any to do back to their own money. I go to local shops exactly where i live. These are normal everyday shops ay Russian would shop in.
