These are Harbor Freight's new Swedish pipe pliers and they seem pretty well made for the price and that have 12", 17", & 21" versions.

They're faster than a traditional pipe wrench and easier to use with one hand... Mine will be here tomorrow BIG CAT 🐈 Great tool for $20.. Next day: got em..awesome must have tool for that price...

Got one of these this weekend for $13.99 after a 30% off coupon! Crazy deal, can't wait to put these to the test.

I've never used one of these, so it's nice to see your review. Very interesting. Thanks for posting.

Considering what I paid for Dako/Gedore and a Knipex versions, $20 is insane.

not same quality

@@TristanKage Perhaps not, but they're not bad. I wanted some, but didn't want to pay Snap-On prices. I do have a few Bahco tools, and love them. so perhaps I'll regret cheaping out...

They're great for suspension work

thanks for pointing out that seam could be welded or one. That is the weak point of those pliers. Nice Vid. Keep it up.

Might need to try one

I have the Bahco ones and use them for alignments and getting round stuff that is stuck off. They get into places a pipe wrench will not.

Do you use a 12" size like this one in the video?
@donho36177 ай бұрын
@@Firstnameidk I go for cars. For trucks and other parts that will not come off I have a pair that Rainman Ray calls angry pliers. I used to use the Channellock 410 parrot head pliers, but the Bahcos are faster and grip better. Do not get me wrong, but the Channellocks would be good if you are not in a high production shop.

The union at the pump in my irrigation system requires a pipe wrench the has at least a 4" jaw opening with 4 1/2 to 5" being more useful. When it comes to the old standard pipe wrench, the only one I have found with a 4" jaw opening is huge and I would probably need to do a little weight training to use it. Need two wrenches to break the union, so I believe the 17" and 21" Icons will do the trick without breaking the bank and my back.

I just bought one of these and the next larger size - which was only $25 when i got it - and decided I could do without my old Fuller pipe wrenches, which I hadn't used in many years. (I had a twinge getting rid of them, but my garage is getting full, so I need to restrict myself to tools I'm actually using, and I figured if I couldn't do the job with these, I'd give up and call a plumber.)

Grabbed the 12” pair today for $15. Wanted the 21” as well but I really have no need for them and just want to have them. So next coupon I’ll get the 21”

Killer deal, i bought a snapon one like this over 20 years ago and it was 60$ on clearance

Some of the stuff lately the initial price has been higher and Harbor Freight has lowered the price later on

The only thing I hate about them is that only one of the handles has a comfort grip. And I know that you only have to hold on to the grilled handle. But realistically the user is going to grab both handles and squeeze them.
@boosted2.4_sky7 ай бұрын
Not if they know how to use them..lol Most likely they'll be wearing gloves while working so it doesn't matter anyway
@robertrada47837 ай бұрын
There are variations from VBW and Knipex/Rennsteig that more comfortable dipped handles on both ends. The Knipex ones are more of Cobra mechanism though.

17s were $25 at my HF, but none were on the shelves. I wanted the 12s but couldn’t resist for the price lol

I just bought one, it was 29.99

@@redrustyhill2 yeah, the prices go up and down a lot I’ve noticed… I had a coupon but the icon slip joints were 19.99, and last time I was at my store they were 17, and all the other pliers that were 21.99 dropped to 19.99. The week I got mine they weren’t even on the website yet, but I gave them the part number and they came back with the bigger ones for 24.99. I’ve heard they’ve done a lot of this in the past, too. But, thanks for putting the current price up for folks!
