My sister and I got these dolls as gifts for Christmas when we were little girls. I had the one in the aqua silk dress and she had the one in orange lace! I fell in love with the doll's deep red hair and wished there were more dolls with this color!

This is a sad story: I remember going to my grandmother's house and seeing these boxes for Crissy and Velvet. I always thought the graphics were beautiful. She also had a vintage Barbie carry case that my sisters and I did play with sometimes. Velvet and Crissy belonged to my mom and my aunt. In all the years my grandmother kept them stored away, I never saw them out of their box. Years later, I found out that my grandmother asked my mom and aunt if they wanted their dolls back. Neither did. My grandmother gave them away! I was so disappointed. I have found Velvet, Mia, Crissy, and Cinnamon over the years, but I struggle to keep them because I so wanted to have those dolls. It's not the same. They are very fun, beautiful dolls though, but always a sad memory for me.

So glad you did this episode. I loved Crissy all my life. I was born in 69 so we're the same age . A neighbor had one and I always wanted one, I finally got one second hand when I was 10-12. . I now have a lot of them as it is hard to pass one up. I have created wardrobes for several and handed them out to you g girls. Last was to a young Hispanic girl I road the bus with every morning on the bus. I asked her mom and brought it and gave it to her. I even made her shoes and sandals to match the outfits I made. Every girl deserves a doll with pretty clothes . I do have two baby Crissys too, one AA one white. Right now I have a bag of 20 from goodwill I am cleaning up and will need to pass most on to new owners . Thanks for the book call out, I will need to find me a copy! I also have her original paper doll, who came with fabulous hairstyles, some down to her toes!

Thanks for this video. I don't collect Crissy but I had one as a child. I must have had the 1969 "2nd" version because the hair on mine didn't go down to the floor but she did have the orange dress and orange shoes. I've had the Crissy book for many years but I didn't know about the web site until you mentioned it. I love that you played with your mother's childhood doll and have the doll still. How wonderful. I also love that you've "saved" so many Crissys. Even though I don't collect them or have my childhood doll anymore, I still love her and I appreciate what you are doing on you channel.

I had Brandi and Kerry as a little girl. I loved them so much. My mom and Nana would crochet out fits for me. I have the dress that the black Crissy has on. I still have the dress and the scarf, but the vest that came with it has, sadly, been lost to time. I found a classic Crissy...I finally got my Crissy doll...at a flea market and she was in incredible condition back in the early 80's. She had her icon orange dress and her shoes. I miss my Crissy and Friends! My Kerry and Brandi still have original outfits with the exception of one lost green shoe for Kerry. They are packed away in my home state still. My sister had Mia and Dina. I wanted a Tressy doll growing up, but our small town toy store didn't carry her. My first reroot (on a Barbie) ended up way too heavy as well. I love the VeIvet doll you rerooted. I am amazed that some of the dolls mechanics still work. I just love your collection Allison, I had no idea about the international Crissy dolls. Wow a Diana Ross doll! Thank you for sharing your collection and information with us!! 💜💜

Excellent Allison 😃... I still have my original Velvet doll, I'm thinking, I got when I was around 8ish 🤔... "Swirly Daiseys" . The older girls at school had Crissy. I more than made up for that many years ago when I discovered eBay 🤣... I can still remember distinctly opening my Velvet ❤... I ended up getting two more MIB just for the feeling of having her all over again 🤗. In Australia, I think we only got Crissy, Velvet & possibly Cinnamon. I have Beths book & she super inspired me to move forward with a vintage collection. I need to get around to listing many for resale, as you know, this hobby throws up soooo many new choices "daily" 😂, but my Swirly Daisys girls will always stay 🤗❤

Does yours have the pale face??
@julz13712 жыл бұрын
@@MunecasPoupeesDolls She does. Slightly paler & a little more narrow I believe. It's funny, I haven't really engaged with my Crissy/Velvet etc collection for a long time, & you reminded me, when I first received Velvets from the US I noticed they were slightly different. My US Swirly Daisies Velvet has softer vinyl in her arms than my Aussie girl, but the legs on both are same hard vinyl. They're pretty much basically the same doll though. 👌🏼😃... I have a vague recollection that some of the older girls at school had "Brandi" as well 🤔... 😂long time ago, hard to be sure 😂

I had so much fun watching this video! What a trip down memory lane. I had one of the original Crissy dolls. Boy, I wish I still had her! I have been looking for one in our thrifts stores for quite a while but have never run across one. My sisters, who are 6 & 7 years younger than me, had the Baby Crissy dolls! I still remember when Santa brought them, they each had a diaper bag filled with real baby clothes, blankets and accessories. My Mom did those, they weren’t actual Ideal branded things. I think one of my sisters still has hers. I am going to have to check out the website!

I love the Beth's "Crissy and Beth" website. I thought I knew a lot about Crissy when I first went there, but she had more. I think I have been going to the sight for 8 or 9 years, as a quick reference guide. One of the things I thought was weird, was that Velvet was Crissy's cousin -- not little sister, but I also found that so great because I had so many cousins as a kid.

I would keep her in a cradle that my Gpa made ... she ended up melted because electric baseboard heating ... I loved her so much that I kept her any way but eventually tossed her ... odd I still have her green shoes thinking I might find another one day.
