@@jimw9415 - Yes. Also, NFL Throwback has a video titled "Demons of the Past Come Back to Haunt! Handoff to Lynch and stuffed hard by the Rams of all teams, who went 7-9 with two of those 7 wins against Seattle. When Seattle needed 1 yard, giving it to lynch was the wrong choice far more often than it was the right choice. Lynch was amazing... but he was amazing because of his vision and agility. Man could read blocks and step out of the way of Linebackers. he didn't run over linebackers, he side stepped them and ran through diving/reaching arm tackles. He typically lost against squared up Shoulder tackles. I think it was also the safety Ryan Clark who said and proved that if you squared lynch up in the hole, you were going to win. Lynch won with angles. When he got 45 degrees on you, his stiff arm and legs would turn away anything you gave him.

12:33 - This hurt almost as bad as the ending. As a 49ers fan, I was saying how Russ is going to try and draw Brooks offsides. I don't know where Ahmad ranked, but he jumped for those hard counts "all the time". Then the mic'd up segment confirmed it.

As an outsider, I was always drawn to #94 Justin Smith. Dude was a wrecking ball on the Dline and a huge reason their defense went from good to elite. In a 3-4 a dominant DE can make all the difference

Tip of the hat to Steven Hauschka at 12:20 - he surveyed the situation and wasn't confident he could make the kick from that distance in those conditions so he called it off, Carroll trusted his judgment and they score the go-ahead TD on the fourth down play instead.

Looking back at this game, I’m starting to think Russell Wilson was never the guy. Always knew it was more our defense that kept us competitive, but seeing Russell now and Russell back then, it makes me think he wasn’t ever as good as he was made out to be.
@omegamanGXE Жыл бұрын
Wussell Rilson was genuinely good but his unorthodox style of scrambling around and hitting big on broken plays could only last as long as his athleticism did. He could never really simply drive down a field like a normal quarterback by converting 3rd downs with check downs to keep the chains moving.
@TheFrenchPug Жыл бұрын
You gotta look and see he wasn't still under non-stop pressure and getting sacked left and right. There weren't any other QBs besides Krapernick who could scramble and pass like Russ. He never had time to sit in the pocket.
@ckack13723 ай бұрын
Wilson had like the best deep ball ever..he was a magician how he could throw it high 2 the sky and drop it perfectly into his receivers hands..and was prob as clutch as it gets except 4 the crazy malcolm butler SB play..best deep ball thrower I've seen and was never injured despite his size and play style!!

This was a great game man and to bad the niners lost but I've been over that lol. I can't believe this is now a decade old game and now Seattle has to travel to Sf this Saturday for the wildcard round in 2023. I was in my early 20s when Kap was still a qb in mid 2010s and I was still in college as well. Time goes by fast.

Refs helped Seattle win this game. No roughing the punter?No intentional grounding? Terrible. Bowman with the takeaway that’s overturned,even though the Niners get a turnover right after that. But it’s just too much against you when every bad call goes Seattles way.

Everyone in the building knew Kaep was going to force it to Crabtree. That idiot had Boldin and Davis who were bigger, stronger, and far more able targets in close range/tight coverage & still he forced it to Crabtree. Same reason they lost the Super Bowl.

After going back and watching some playoff games from the past 10 years, I realized the energy in this game was DIFFERENT. You just don't see this type of intensity or high stakes energy in the NFL no more. Something changed after 2013. Idk what it was but this is the last game I can remember where the game was like life or death and the brotherhood was STRONG between the teams

That Seattle defense was one mean nasty animal that year. This was the Super Bowl, Denver had no idea what they were facing when this Seattle came met them 2 weeks later. So many Hall of Famers on the field this day. Honorable mention was the 49ers Line back core with Willis, Bowman in the center and the Smith brothers with the pass rush.
@mrsinister8943 Жыл бұрын
Makes you realize how Kap was obviously blackballed from the league. His last season he still had more tds than ints and he never had a bad playoff game including the Superbowl. Kap had tons of talent and the potential to be the best QB in the league. He definitely struggled at times but he was very good.

We just could not rely on kap to get us to that next level. I actually think that what the Niners have now is already at that next level and I honestly do not think we will be defeated this year with Purdy at the helm. Its like the Montana and Young era, only better!
@mrsinister8943 Жыл бұрын
Kap was so talented. He had all the tools to be an elite QB but he regressed and struggled to make his reads but he never had a bad playoff game. I'll never forget the year he won the starting job when Alex got injured and Kap came in and was making plays and passes that Alex just couldn't make. Kap was awesome his first year or two when he was the starter but then he just regressed for some reason. He probably could of worked alot harder at watching tape and reading defenses but he definetly wasn't a scrub QB. Ill never forget him scorching Green Bay in the playoffs 😆 😆 😆 he was alot of fun to watch when he was playing well.
