Opting to get the ball first in last year's OT is a breakdown of the complete system. Coaches, players, everyone involved with the organization did not work to understand the new rules and how it would impact them in that situation. No argument could convince me that getting the ball first is a smart choice. You literally have 0% chance to win the game with the first possession and a valid chance to lose with a turn over turned into points. My brother in law is a die hard 49er fan. I still look fondly on the wall that had a hole in it from the black out Super Bowl.

It’s been called 7 times in the last 6 years and 3 of those calls went against the Chiefs. The 49ers offensive line only got called for 1 hold against the Chiefs in 9 quarters so it went both ways.
