Once Iraq's gateway to Turkey and Europe, the iconic Mosul train station is now a shadow of its former glory. In its heyday, Mosul was an essential stop for Iraqi railways, linking Baghdad to 72 other locations. However, bombings have destroyed much of the station and reconstruction has been slow with little investment.
