I've owned three dresses and two tops from Rouje. I've sold or given away all of the pieces, except for one dress. They were much lower quality than you'd expect for the price -- all thin viscose that shrank, pilled, and/or got runs in the fabric despite my very gentle hand-washing. The only reason I've kept one dress is that I had it tailored and it fits me beautifully (because of the tailoring) -- love how it looks, but I have to baby it (wish it was a better material).

I have several Rouje dresses and skirts. I like the shape and prints, but it's true that the texture is the same quality as H&M or Zara..... They should make more effort to make better quality for this price. As soon as I noticed it, I only buy this brand in second-hand stores. As I find that the price doesn't match, it's better to buy cheaper. Thank you for your video :)

When you wash Viscose over time it shirks considerably, oversized tshirts turn into crop tops. Shein uses a lot of viscose for their floral dresses

Really surprised when the store first opened and I realised the dresses were synthetic. I expected chic printed cotton at the price!

I really love the Rouje aesthetic and have purchased several dresses and a couple of cardigans since 2018. Honestly, the French girl style is beautiful however, the viscose the dresses are made of is too wrinkly and of poor quality. I have sold all my Rouje dresses.

I love their jeans since they are a 100% cotton (really hard to find elsewhere), so I buy the Marais jeans again and again. But otherwise, I agree that Rouje use to much polyester and viscose in the rest of the clothes.

I've bought a fair amount from rouje over the past 5, 6 years, mostly around 2019ish. I feel like they peaked around then in terms of aesthetic. Aesthetic aside, I've found the quality to be meh to bad, with the occasional gem. I actually have that vest/trouser set in cotton linen and they're forever pieces for me. I also LOVE the boots I've gotten, and my wallet the past few years is from Rouje too. Were these things worth the money? Not really, the prices are inflated but I can get my value from them via cost per wear. And those things I will wear into the ground. But I've also bought things and instantly regretted it because the fit was bad or it was just so cheap looking. The only rouje item I've bought the past year is the big zebra print bag and I couldn't believe how cheaply made it was. Like plastic "hardware" and scratchy synthetic lining for $500! After one season, it's worn so badly. I feel so sheepish because for that amount I could buy a much better made luxury bag secondhand. I like Jeanne Damas' style and so I'll probably follow the brand but I don't see myself buying any clothes. If anything, I'd get them via a reseller. (I will say that I have a few makeup items and I really like them! I have the face palette and the cleanser, both of which I use regularly and will definitely repurchase once I've used them up.)

I have two dresses and a few tops from Rouje which I got second hand-although they were in good condition. I was disappointed by the quality of the dresses and I found that they fit a little awkwardly on my body shape (pear shape, EU size 36-38). I found the material very thin and the buttons fell off very easily. I think the tops are slightly better but I would be hesitant to purchase anything new from the brand when you can find better quality elsewhere for a better price. I actually have one of the books and I completely agree- it's not really a book but rather a collection of pictures. Not good if you want to read anything but a good aesthetic for your home if that's what you like! I really enjoyed your video, thank you!

Thank you! I would buy from Rouje at some point because I have watched Jeanne D's story morph, grow, change and constantly improve. She stands true to her aesthetic and any of her videos or photographs are consistent with her brand and aesthetic. You get the sense that she knows who she is and is not on any quest to please others. Her books are also very much a window into the life in Paris, done impossibly well.❤ Thanks for this video and your honesty. Refreshing.

I've only purchased one dress back when they were having a pop-up store in Los Angeles. Most of the clothes I tried on when I was there had a very odd fit to them. I usually don't have issues with clothes fitting me properly so I'm not sure why it felt like every piece I tried on didn't sit right on my body. Pretty much the only thing I thought was good was the dress I bought which was one of their silk slip dresses.

I was eyeing up a dress but the shipping to Australia was like 60 euros. I really think it all looks quite cheap low quality for the price and a lot of cheap fabrics. Would be nice to visit the store and see but not tempted to ship.

She made the French reformation, essentially. Unfortunately the clothes are made incredibly cheap and the quality is very much lacking. PS. Jeanne is a 36 FR, like me, it’s not that small - 38 is just the most commonly sold size in France. And it’s not surprising you are a different size on the bottoms, most women are.

What is size 38? What about 36? 34? What are the measurements for those sizes? Are those xs, s, m equivalent? Like what is a skirt size 34?
