Thank you as always for sharing all this info. I’m finding myself more and more team Tenor. I always come back to your channel because I love your relaxing sleepy demos. Really brings out the strong points of this instrument 👍🏼

I really like the sound of mahogany. All three of these sounded wonderful. Each was very differnent. My personal favorite of these would be the Tenor.

All 3 sound great. Daughter liked the Tenor more than the rest and she’s just getting started with a Soprano at the age of 6.

As a proud owner of both the KTC-2 and the KTT-2, I have to say, I wouldn't swap them for the world. They are worth every cent you pay for and more. They are worth half the price of Martin yet sound just as good or better. Thanks Alex.

Really enjoyed this! Concert winner with speakers and then tried again with headphones and preferred the tenor. So you probably need all 3 to be sure.

It's sad that Soprano Ukulele's are losing their popularity. I have only just been playing 18 months and I have definitely developed UAS! I recently bought a Sopranissimo from you guys at SUS. However, the size I play most is Soprano. That size feels comfortable to me. I think the Kiwaya Soprano sounds amazing and if I had the cash, I would be buying it. Thanks Alex. Very interesting! I am grateful that you left the 'plong' in. It encourages us noobs to not be so hard on ourselves about playing 'plongs!' Love that word. I think I need a T-Shirt with 'I love Plongs' on it. Nobody would know apart from you and I and the lovely folks watching this video.

I'm all for an 'in joke' #plong I agree about Soprano popularity waning being a sad thing too but I do see it from the manufacturers side of things. At the high end, it costs as much to make a Soprano as it does a baritone (give or take a little bit building costs) but if fewer people are buying them and the smaller size can sometimes limit the tonal possibilities - you can see how people naturally swerved towards the other sizes. Long term Soprano Ukulele players get very frustrated by the lack of selection on our website for Sopranos across the different price points. It's funny though because 18 months ago I made it my mission to order a dozen different high end Soprano Ukuleles to please our customers and most of them ended up being discounted or sold as B-stock after 6-8 months because so few people took an interest. Thanks for watching as always Wendy!

Brilliant! Even as Kiwaya’s UK distributor, I rarely get the opportunity to have all three of these out at one time. This video is a really useful comparison. I suspect you won’t have all three for long :-)

If I had to choose, it would be the concert as it has a good mix of traditional sound but a nice richer tone. I do like the open back tuners on the tenor.

I really enjoy hearing you play the same song on different uks. Its really great to hear the different tones and quality. I would love to hear you play some really affordable verse expensive Uks as well.

Thanks for the informative video! I'd really like something like a vintage Martin oder Gibson tenor, but there are also the Ohana TK-38 and TK-39. How would those compare against a Kiwaya KTT-2? I'd be really glad about a comparison video between the Kiwaya, the Ohana TK-38 and vintage-styled Martin like the "Streetmaster."

What the hell is the difference between the concert and the tenor? They almost don't sound different by much of a big difference. I have the tenor and I'm seriously considering buying a concert as a back up second. I have my tenor tuned to low G and am thinking about buying the concert to keep as a high g tuning... What are your thoughts? Or should I do the low g tuning on the concert and the high g on the tenor? Now I'm lost and I have so many questions. LOL! HALP!!
@SouthernUkuleleStore3 жыл бұрын
The body is about 30% smaller and the scale length of a concert being shorter gives them a snappier sound. I recommend keeping a tenor low G and playing the Concert high G to get the best out of both.

That the soprano is awesome was no surprise, but the brilliant tenor just won my heart. How does it compare to Kiwaya's KPT-1M, which is also all solid mahogany but with somewhat more modern looks? I just have to put one of them on my wishlist, but only one :-)
@SouthernUkuleleStore4 жыл бұрын
I personally much prefer this to the player series. The player models were nice enough but they don't feel very 'kiwaya' or have as much soul as these. I think you could by lots of modern wide nut gloss tenors but nothing else really like the KTT2. ,🙌
@GenghisDaniel4 жыл бұрын
@@SouthernUkuleleStore thanks for the nice video as always. Do you know if there are only aesthetic differences between the KPT-1M and the KTT-2, apart from the little wider nut ? Do you know if the build is different in terms of bracing or anything else ? I was wondering about that, I own a KTC-2 and to me it is one of the most beautiful Ukuleles I have ever seen, so much understated beauty, every detail is crafted to perfection, and it sounds beautiful with a lot of soul, a 3D quality to the sound that is really beautiful, as you said. I am considering a tenor and I was a little unsettled with the design of the Strummer series, for me it is not as coherent as the player models (the headstock and the fingerboard dots which are modern in style are a little weird on a more traditional body). I thought that the modern headstock was the new headstock for all the ukes of the company, seeing that the player series is still around is a relief.

Can you make a Review of super tenor ukuleles?
@SouthernUkuleleStore4 жыл бұрын
I'd love to but the problem is lack of available stock... The Kala super Tenor has supposedly been discontinued already and the Islander super tenors have been out of stock since November... Leaving just high end options which have all been featured individually in out #offthepeg videos. It's a great suggestion; just thought I'd let you know why it hasn't happened already.

They are all absolutely wonderful ukuleles - but, in my opinion, the KTS-4 borders on sounding muffled out of the box with the Fremont Blacline strings and tuned in C. Tuning it in D makes a world of difference. The tenor lacks some of the charm of the smaller sizes - to my ears. So, for me, the clear winner in this video is the concert size.
@SouthernUkuleleStore4 жыл бұрын
I'm also a big fan of tuning sopranos to D to get more out of them.

The tenor won my heart by far, but all the instruments were amazing. I was wondering, what strings were on the ukes during this video? I just noticed a different sound than some of the other black stringed ukes in other videos. Thanks for making these videos, love all the info and comparisons!

The Kiwayas are strung with Fremont Blackline strings nowadays... Thanks for watching, glad you enjoy them.
