Even in 2024, I'm still excited about all the sounds and instruments we have on mobile devices. Where you used to have entire "cupboards", today you have everything on your iPad in your backpack. And Iconic Sketch is the first orchestra app on mobile devices that doesn't sound like a toy compared to the big desktop software like. those from Orchestral tools Thank you for the Demo, Doug.

I've been looking for something to pair with my Swam addiction to fill out sections while Swamming the solos I picked up Mini Orchestra recently, hoping that would do it... Nooooo. Not at all. Hoping they approve the refund Cause this fits the bill PERFECTLY. The mod wheel/expression is intuitive af (feels like Swam) and REALLY adds depth. Looking forward to playing around with a few new ideas this has already generated!

This sounds so good. Nice and clean and tiny in comparison to my big boy libraries on the Mac. Finally a usable interface for orchestral instruments

Great to have an instrument like this available on IOS, with all the articulations and dynamics, something that has been missing until now. And great demo as always. I’d have loved a choir in there as well but I guess you can’t have everything!

Do you mean some lack of quality in iSymphonic or Iconica Sketch? Judging from Doug’s demo you can actually hear some significant shortcomings in IS with some instruments. What about iSymphonic?

@ sorry I should’ve worded that differently, I’m talking about iSymphonic majority of the sounds are great but a few sound unrealistic in my opinion but still a great app and iconica sketch sounds better than iSymphonic from what I’ve heard so I’ll have to get it at some point. iSymphonic is great too though!

Oh man. I just requested a refund on Mini Orchestra and picked this up Mini Orchestra was so synthy* to me. Messing around with it, I was getting a lot of Link To The Past and early PS1 RPG vibes... Which isnt a bad thing, but not what I was hoping to hear *Maybe just overly compressed sounding? I'm not sure Taste IS subjective. And I do love the diversity coming up like this That said, not all the sounds included here are great. A good majority of them are really good, but there are duds (don't remember specifics) - I just didn't find anything other than the choir really catching my ears in Mini Orchestra Thanks for sharing your opinion!

@@PapaBPoppin Mini Orchestra is interesting because you can trigger different instruments based on key velocity. It doesn't use sampled instruments, so I agree that it sounds "synthy" but Iconica Sketch takes 2 GB of storage.

@PapaBPoppin You should have kept the GSI also. I just opened both into AUM and without panning or anything the sound was HUGE. the other thing I wanted to mention before but forgot is that the iconica won't work on iOS earlier than 17.1.??. So ipads older than a couple of years are going to have trouble with iconica unless you update the iOS, which is a problem if you have some old apps that you still use. Those 10 year old apps stop working sometimes. I have a no update policy myself and only as the last most last resort do I update the iOS.

Mini orchestra has good sounds but when they are together it sounds synth and they are Alone the brass and woodwinds sound good.

It’s also much cheaper, takes up less space, still sounds the same, and literally fits in your pocket lol. People will complain about anything 🤦

...not even 24hr later and i folded... Its awesome. Exactly what i was hoping for (with even a bit more)! Now, im hoping they approve my refund for Mini Orchestra. THAT was a major disappointment [just not what i was hoping for after messing with it for a bit. Just... Not right] Iconica Sketch fills in what i was looking for for a bit now!
