I love how their hair were either afro or mimicking blowout 4c and not straight like today.

Black folks’ sex appeal was off the chart in the 70s! Like out of control lol.

Words cannot express how glad I am that you made this video!! The 70s is my favorite decade, and as a Black girl, it's amazing to see how our fashion, music, and overall culture worked back then and influences today's culture. I'd say my current favorite icons from this decade were Donna Summer (loved her in Thank God It's Friday, though I wish she had more screen time😒), Pam Grier, and Aretha Franklin.

This is so true, some of this generation is so disrespectful when it comes to legends and have no regard for the greats and actual REAL music and REAL talent, like you said mediocrity loves mediocrity Loved this video 💖

I really love the way you acknowledge Black women of the past. They absolutely did pave the way and deserve to be recognized and respected. It's rare to hear a young person speak about this. I appreciate your channel. The work you're doing here is inspiring. Thank you.

Thank you for this video. Disappointed to see some black females making videos about pretty privilege and blaming other races no one finds their beauty attractive. But women back in the day made it work and they are iconic.

This is so true, black women celebrated their beauty and uplifted one another as well and they went through hell but persevered. I think a lot of women now a days have some nar ciss istic tendencies and want acceptance from everyone but you have to go where you're celebrated because you can't change people who are set in their beliefs

Whew yes speak about it! jealousy is so strong in some people and they get so angry when they compete but won't ever compare, so they have to attack the smallest things. Legends and their legacy won't fade but the mediocre talent and gimmicks will.

I used to try to get my hair to look like the women I saw on TV only to realize that a lot of those styles were wigs. I stopped trying after that and wore my hair the way I wanted... slicked back and up!😶🌫️

I appreciate the work you put into the research and editing! I looooooove this period of style, eauty, and music so much. The glamour was just amazing. I appreciate your musing about the critique of Black women and mediocrity...so so true (working twice as hard to get half as much and still being amazing). When you come out with part 2, I'll be there!
