Oh man, did you watch the spinoff from a couple years ago? She was absolutely HEUNOUS. She was totally fine being the "other woman"(again🤦) with Logan, treated her boyfriend like shit by literally forgetting he existed, and is STILL insanely entitled, assuming she would automatically get that job and not have to lift a ginger because woooooo she went to Yale and is Rory Gilmors, and can do no wrong. Disgusting.

So, Big gave her the money and Miranda and Samantha offered her the money willingly. She turns them all down, then takes the money from the one person who she had to guilt/berate into giving it to her. I forgot about this episode but it's amazing how awful Carrie seems now that I'm older.

this is lovely. i love pieces on the 80s, especially fashion and music. when you say Gen X women, i think you mean Boomer women? Gen X babies were born in the 70s and would be in their 20s in the 90s. Boomer women however, were born in the 40s-60s who would’ve been in their 20s-30s in the 80s. they were running things in the 80s, the Gen X babies were still teens at the time 😅
@PrincessdollamandaКүн бұрын
No she’s correct, Gen X women were born in 1965 not the 70s and they were definitely not teens in the 80s, now the ones born in the late 70s and 1980 were teens and babies . A lot Gen X women were in their mid 20s going on 30 but that doesn’t apply to the whole Gen X. 1965-1985=20 so in the later 80s they would be 25 and it’s not like it is today. Most of them ha jobs, houses, cars , families etc at a young age and we’re working hard to get to where they wanted to be. so she is correct and they definitely made an impact. She didn’t say every woman in this video was Gen X either. she spoke about how the Genx women who were born AFTER baby boomers who were still traditional broke free from that. Janet Jackson, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Shannen Doherty,Salt N Pepa, Winona Ryder, Molly Ringwald, etc. are Gen X
@nachebrown3202Күн бұрын
@Princessdollamanda I think you are both correct. Most Gen Xers were teenagers- born between 1965 and 1980. My parents are Boomer/Gen X border, born in 1964 and 1965, and were still in high school when I was born in 1983. The 80s would be over before the oldest Gen Xers would reach 25, and halfway over before they were even 20. Still, I see your point about younger women having more responsibilities back then. I remember my mom wearing these looks in 1988 when I was just 5 and she was 22. I think it was the Boomer women who were leading the charge with women's rights and the 80s fashion revolution- like Grace Jones, Iman, Tina Turner, Phylicia Rashad, Jackee, Madonna, Donna Summer, and Whitney Houston. However, I think the Gen Xers were the young rebels that continued the work at the turn of the decade and into the 90s- Janet Jackson, Salt n Pepa, Lisa Bonet, etc. They worked together but the Boomers definitely deserve their flowers for leading the fashion revolution of the 80s
@leiiibКүн бұрын
@@nachebrown3202 Yes, many Baby Boomer women led important movements for women’s rights, but some of them also held more traditional or conservative views that clashed with the freedom and individuality embraced by the younger generations. Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Tina Turner, Grace Jones etc. faced criticism for rejecting societal expectations and pushing boundaries though they were baby boomers. Many Boomer women upheld traditional roles and values, often questioning younger women’s choices, like prioritizing careers over marriage or expressing themselves through fashion and lifestyles. Gen X women took things further, breaking away from those expectations entirely. They weren’t content with just opening bank accounts or entering the workforce-they wanted to build empires. Gen X reshaped fashion by embracing androgynous styles, oversized clothing, and self-expression, despite pushback from the older generations. Their rebellious attitude redefined what it meant to be a modern woman and left a lasting impact on both culture and fashion and that’s not taking away from Baby Boomers it’s just the truth.

Oh my God, I tried watching Gilmore Girls and I dropped it after the first episode of season 1 because of how much I can't stand Rory. I even had to make a spontaneous video just to talk about how much I don't like her and some other characters T.T Honestly, I don't understand why screen writers make their characters as obnoxious as possible, it's like they don't want audience to root for them nor watch the show. Oh God, Rory is soooo hateable!

Please do a part 2 on 80's Black Culture. I've always loved how excessive and flamboyant it was from the colored clothing, to the peculiar hairstyles, and dynamic music. I really hope society can go back to these trends this year. I think our world would be a much happier place with more "color" involved.

When she called Natasha an idiot over ONE typo. She always tried to make herself feel better by talking bad about her. Natasha was old money, elegance, class, and timeless. Carrie was buying 300 dollar shoes while struggling to pay rent, reckless, insecure and always chasing things that weren’t for her. (Aka big)

You’re one of my favorite creators and one of the very few on KZbin who isn’t gossiping and being messy for clicks and views but actually creating content we enjoy and also giving out advice. I love the 80s fashion so much but it’s not talked about as much as the 90s because people only think about bright neon colors as if that was all it was about it. There were so many stylish women and looks that are so incredible. I love that you made this video 💕💓

This Mr Big relationship was always toxic af. But Carrie was trashy when it came to this relationship. And you had it right... women need to learn this lesson once and for all. Do. NOT. Chase. A. Man. It's degrading and ultimately, even if it's unconscious, if you had to chase him to get him, he will always see you as less than the woman who he had to pursue and work for.
