I and my father were given a private guided tour many years ago of this instrument when it was under restoration, on the second floor of the old Peter Fuller Cadillac building on Mass. Ave, across the street from BU. Mr. Barden was very gracious, and proudly eager to show off his project. The project became a favorite of the late BU president Dr. John Silber, who shepherded it through to completion. With Silber's death, however, the instrument has lost favor among the powers-that-be in administration, and it is not heard as often as it should be. It is a magnificent and intriguing machine, and a book should be written about its restoration, and about the phenomenon of residence organs generally. Kudos and bravos, Mr. Barden.
