Enjoy a sneak peek from our latest series - ICONS OF AUTO!
William C. Durant’s greatest failure leads to the birth of Chevrolet. Durant is the founder of General Motors and in 1909 he tries to buy the upstart Ford Motor Company but none of the major banks would provide financing! So instead in 1911 he asks celebrated racer car driver Louis Chevrolet if he’d join him in starting a new car company. The result is a brand that goes on to become one of the largest carmakers in the world, surviving two World Wars, a Great Depression and multiple economic collapses to produce the Silverado pickup truck, the Camaro blue collar sports car, and the absolutely mental Corvette supercar.
