I feel that what made Brando, even in his acting, is that he was consciously playing "mind games". Thats what made a Charismatic Brando! Of course you have to do it with confidence & reflect it with such ease; which comes across as COOL .. He was a master at this, take note men:)

@@mickexplorer it's true...his oldest son, Christian, shot & killed his sisters boyfriend. She ended up taking her life. But that didn't make Marlon an unavailable father. From everything I've read, he cared deeply for his children & took care of all 14 of them. Busy guy...

Even Brando was much better when he had practice. He played in A Street Car Named Desire on Broadway for a year before filming the movie. He knew his lines and had hours and hours of practice. His role as Stanley is the best role of his life, in my humble opinion. Imagine what he could have done if he always learned his lines and rehearsed. The director of one of his later movies (forgot who) came out and asked him why he stopped learning his lines and stuck cue cards all over the place for himself. His reply was "because I CAN". A bit of self discipline would have served this GORGEOUS, obscenely talented man very well.

Dude I think most boys are gonna end up in trouble if they use Brando's technique to attract women. You don't get the whole point do you? You attract people who are resonating with the same frequency or opposite polarity. Brando has personality of a bad boy, so that's why he attracts girls who are submissive. I don't think he can go to bar and behave like that to a random girl. He will get slapped even if he is Brando. It's just a Generalisation we learn from movies that hot girls get attracted only to Brando or Johnny Depp. Even Brando and Depp couldn't enjoy a good happy relationship that you and I enjoy. If they are that hot, why not attract a nice faithful girl. They only attract people of their own kind.

Oscar Clarke ...I agree. It wasn’t that he wasn’t interesting and observant, but I actually started nodding off because he ended up saying too many words. He built us up to watch the scene, but then didn’t let us watch. This made it very tedious. Get to the point, let us see the scene, then back up, review and explain, but succinctly using less words!

I disagree about what you said about the lady and the bar. Deep down she wanted to go to the bar. And she was giving him the opportunity to get them over there. That's why she said that. They are two adults in their sexual primes. They should be at the bar. It's a better environment to get to know each other. And the brilliance of Brando is that he didn't hesitate at all to get up and go over there.

Brando wasn’t a method actor. He hated that myth. Read The Contender. He was a very unattractive man as far as behavior in a relationship and very attractive in everything else. The average healthy woman would run for the hills.
@MichaelCorleone654

There were different strands of method acting. There is not one method but a few that branch from Stanislavski’s teachings. Stella Adler was Marlon Brando’s teacher and she was a proponent of her own unique method which was less dedicated to emotional memory than Lee Strasberg’s method as practiced by the likes of James Dean and Al Pacino. The idea of method acting being one variation of performance is a modern misconception. You can definitely categorise Brando as being a method actor based on how he would prepare for his roles although his method was unique to his own temperament as a performer and the teachings of Stella Adler.
@maureenhansen3308
@maureenhansen3308 4 жыл бұрын
Michael Corleone Brando had contempt for people who called him a method actor. Certainly each acting teacher has their own “method” of teaching, as any English teacher may, but having your own method doesn’t have the same meaning as method actor. I will go by what Brando himself said about it, he said he wasn’t a method actor and thought it was ridiculous. I have no opinion on it.

This was a good effort but you've got to stop saying ah and um every other second. It's really hard to listen. You need to record yourself. Listen back to it and say it again without all the continual pausing to think of a word. Or write a script for God's sakes. This doesn't have to be off the cuff, you're not ready for that. You will be though
