If you ever make an update to this thing (which I highly think you should), I’d like to see more development on their brains. Randomly picked personalities that affect when they eat. and randomly picking how attracted they are to different traits like personality and color. Make them fear predators, travel in packs, make friendships, and pretty much every unused idea mentioned in the video, they were all great. I do know, however, as a professional lazy person, thinking of these ideas is MUCH EASIER than implementing them, but if you can find the time, I’d love to see this happen. Also, if you aren’t already, start writing your ideas down the moment you get them so they don’t slip away. I guess that could go for any creative hobby.
@icoso21 сағат бұрын
These additions are so cool and creative! Yeah like I said at the end, building up the brain complexity is something I'm interested in and could make for some intricate inter-goober interactions. If I do get around to making an update, this is definitely something I'd wanna do ^^

Hey here are ides to make it better: 1. Species and diet At the moment you have a large carnivore being wombos Small carnivore being doritos Medium omnivores being goober so you have no herbivore (plant eaters) no fish eaters so here are my for this theme: Wendigo disease so basically cannibalism meaning a goob can be born with a cannibalistic hunger. Herbivore species that evolve into 2 sizes being large and medium mediums eat from bushed while large ones eat from trees and get left alone but the herbivore goob will lay eggs wich will be food for gooblets. Aquatic and semi aquatic goob basically aquatic goobs live in rivers or seas while the semi aquatic goobs can go into water to haunt aquatics but also live on land and bury their eggs in sands. Hive goobs basically ants being small omnivores working for a queen ant and make sure it survives so they survive if the queen dies they will die and try to get a new queen. Biomes: Dessert, green zone, snow, ocean(islands), forrest basically the ground will be recolored and they will have different effects on the living beings

An idea: By making it so that the "attractiveness" gene ACTUALLY chooses what color of gooblet the gooblet will prefer- and making it so that when gooblets try to reproduce, there is a chance of failure influenced by how different their genetic makeup is- you should be able to get emergent species instead of having to manually add them, which should result in far more interesting simulations! Fantastic video! Loving this energy, every joke tickled me, looking forward to more. Some comments: 1) Running multiple simulations and plotting the average graph might help spot trends instead of being subject to the randomness of a single run! 2) The cold/warm tendency towards the center can be explained by the random movement of the gooblets, since the average motion will be towards the center. I wonder if you would get the same result if the screen "wrapped" at the edges, or if the hot/cold regions were distributed differently Great work overall!

The part about temperature and they preferring the middle I think it's not that they prefer the average temperature, it's just if things move randomly in an area the average position will always be in the middle, also they don't have the means to know the temperature of the environment (at least u didn't say they do)

Ideas for upcoming ideas: *Insert dramatic voice* - NEW PLANTS - 1. Trees: unlike bushes, can grow up to 6 food. Do not break. Have a bigger chance of being stuck by lightning. 2. Flowers: flowers 3. Big bushes: Can hold 4 food, breaks less. - ROTTING & DESTROYING - Bushes can now rot, they have a lengthy timer which varies. If it runs out the bush gets destroyed, but the food falls down and is still eatable. Trees don't rot, but are very likely to be hit by lightning while thunder, also destroying them. Big bushes have a longer timer. - GROWING - Opposing rotting, plants can grow now. Bushes have a high chance to grow somewhere, anywhere. Big bushes spawn less and spread out, so if there are too many bushes of whatever type they won't spawn. Trees are very rare to spawn. - NATURAL DISASTERS - 1. Rain & thunder: rain makes a higher chance of plants growing. But sometimes there's also thunder with it, which has a chance (actually not too low) to struck a plant or goob with a lightning. Whatever is struck is perished. 2. HURRICANE: spawns a hurricane somewhere and destroys whatever is in range of the annihilation. Hope you add at least some of these ideas, or consider them in the future. Nice video!

Idea: what if you added an organism that can lay eggs, and the other organism will try to eat the egg, maybe a new trait which will be the max distance the parent will be to the egg, which could be interesting, because although they need food and water they also could scare off other organisms, something else is if the egg gets eaten, the parent gets depression and moves slower, and has not as much view so evolution favors keeping the egg alive.

Oh, now THIS is an interesting idea! I'm gonna be thinking about this for a while, haha, lots of things to consider but yeah this could make for a super interesting simulation

When you introduced predators, did you give the gooblets the ability to detect, and run away from them? If they are still wandering around randomly, that would mean they could just run into a wombo and sacrifice themselves. Having them run away would probably make it a lot more favorable to have good speed and eyesight, and might lead to some Predator-Prey interdependent relationship. Anyways fun video!

Thank you for the interesting comment!! If I remember correctly, the gooblets don't necessarily *run away* but they do detect when they're based chased, and they'll spend less time standing still before choosing a new direction. It was kind of a quick-and-easy solution, but I agree, including some more intricate behaviours could make for some really cool interactions! I'll definitely consider this if I ever make a sequel / update - thanks again! ^^

@@icoso I think that rather than throwing species with different mechanics all in (like how you made the wombos reproduce by division) and trying to balance them artificially is doomed to fail... instead you should make it so that they all start as gooblets on a level playing field and they can develop different shapes, strategies and sizes, and see how it turns out- that's evolution! It would be far more interesting to see wombos and bungers evolve out of gooblets rather than just being made seperately.

Random idea: packs and wars If a species starts to decline, packs could be formed where they move together and have a chance to settle down into a village. If the species is doing better after packs have been formed, a war can happen where the same species attacks each other (over bushes and water probably)

Honestly all gooblets are pretty hot whatever their hotinase gene is 👀

I think you should add ecosystems and evolution into separate species
