God is like Harry Potter. He can conjure things up. It is the easiest thing in the world to conjure things up. Every God can do this. Otherwise we would call him a showman. I think the classification, evolutionists do, is wright. What do you think? Is it possible to believe in things who don't exist? Many stupid creationist children played with dinosaurs, but not all survived. God is as useful as a pimple on the face. However, apparently some of us are very proud of having a pimple on the face.

I am a 76 year old man. When in high school we studied evolution one day and had to write a report for the next day. I copied from my Bible the days of creation. We had to stand before the class and read our report. After I read, the teacher, a baptist deacon ask me to bring him my paper. He stood a told the class to listen closely as he read my paper. He did a better job of reading than I did. When he finished he told the class that that's the way all things came to be. He told the class to forget our one day of study on evolution. I made one of the few one hundreds I ever made that day.

I am sorry you "...barely made it out of high school..." and it explains why you have been taken in by this nonsense. You may have gained wisdom about some life experiences, but knowledge could come from enrolling in a basic course in biology at a non-Xian community college. Old dogs like us CAN learn new tricks. Of course, if you already know all there is to know, then education, for all wise guys, would be futile.

As soon as you hear Trey say "the science that confirms scripture" you have to laugh. There isn't any. How does science confirm that earth was created in 6 days? Show me the evidence. Show me peer-reviewed papers. Show me the science that confirms the creation of Adam, the result of an ancient Hebrew Golem spell. Show me the science that confirms there was a global flood. Show me the peer-reviewed papers, when there is evidence from 8 different scientific disciplines that it never happened. Show me the scientific evidence that people live to 600 years old like "Noah". Or 900, like "Methuselah". Show me scientific evidence of the "fountains of the deep" or "the firmament" or the "waters above the firmament". Show me how the YEC global flood model explains away the Heat Problem. Show me the scientific evidence that the bible is the inerrant word of god. Show me that it's not a load of mythology recycled from earlier cultures, specifically Mesopotamian, Zoroastrian and Hellenic, with a dash of ancient Hebrew for good measure. It is human story-telling, some of it at its worst. I like the message "love one another" . It's difficult to do but it's better than killing each other. But the message "love god and believe in vicarious redemption via hideous human sacrifice or burn in hell for eternity"? That doesn't seem so loving. It's more the anthropomorphic carrot and the stick writ large, wouldn't you say? But hey, show me the scientific evidence of the afterlife.

Very interesting! Thank you. I'm 50 years old now, 28 years a Christian believer, and it's been many years since my faith rested on scientific discoveries or the lack thereof. The farther you go with God the more real he becomes to the point where it's just as self-evident is breathing. I still appreciate that science is catching up with faith. Smug scientist who are so full of their own ego and pride are extremely tiresome. Very grateful men like you and many others who have the courage to be intellectually honest, like Berlinsky. I would assert Science will never catch up with Christianity. More for the simple reason science can only deal with the physical world and nothing else. Christianity is 100% about the spirit. Meaning we read in John 4:24) God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” Science for me as great as it is to allow us to engineer complex things say like a jet engine, the materials and everything about it to make it as safe as we can these days.... I find science completely off base. Huh? Think about it people are using telescopes, microscopes and a lot of other devices to examine and test word or sounds... Huh? I lose you... How about all that we see in the physical realm was spoken into existence by Christ alone... When someone is testing something under a microscope... Didn't the thing get there by Christ speaking it into existance, so why not use audio analysis to study everything :) This is why i say science, at least if we take what the Bible say "And so God said... Let there be light and it was so, the first day..." for all six days... Makes no sense to use telescopes and other devices... 😋

@@Rizla-, no, it means the longer you have had a personal relationship with your Creator, who is YHVH incarnate in Jesus Christ, the more He makes Himself known to you as He works in your life. You know, I can’t see the wind either, but I know it exists, because I feel its effects on me, and I see its effects on things around me. If you humble yourself, and ask your Creator to make Himself known to you, He will. And if you receive Him by receiving Jesus Christ as your LORD and Creator, He will make changes in you and your life that attest to His faithfulness to keep His promises in His Word. You can’t comprehend any of this, because you have allowed yourself to be brainwashed into believing you don’t have a Creator, and that you are here for no purpose, nothing has any meaning because it’s all some grand coincidence, and your life has no value. You have hardened your heart against your Creator without ever even seeking to know if He exists. Someone told you He doesn’t, and you gullibly believed their Iies, all to your own detriment. The creation itself is evidence of His existence, and if you knew how archaeological discoveries, and scientific discoveries, and astronomical discoveries, are verified by scriptures in the Bible that were written long before those discoveries were made, then you would see how fooIish you are. In fact, the creation attests to the existence of our Creator so much that He says you are without excuse for denying Him when you stand before Him in jùdgement for your unrepentant síns. Furthermore, just because you deny Him, it doesn’t excuse you from His judgèment, but rather, it just reserves you an etèrnal place in the lake of fíre. Eterníty is going to be a long time to be in remorse because you were wrong about the existence of YHVH in Christ. You still have a chance to receive Him as your LORD and Savior now, and escape His eternál judgèment. Seek YHVH in Christ and you will find Him, knock and He will open the door for you. If you open your heart to Him, then you will understand what I’m saying, and what the other person was trying to convey. Jesus Christ shed His ßIood for your síns as much as He did for mine. All you have to do is accept the free gift of salvátion that He purchased for you with His precious ßIood. I pray you will let go of the brainwashing, and earnestly seek to know your Creator.

That is in reference to lichen and other microbes breaking down rocks to make the soil not making soil from biomass (which required soil to grow in the first place). Not nay saying creation, just making sure you don’t get made out to be a fool in an argument. An intelligent designer would also create a mechanism to replenish soil (the breakdown of rocks by lichen) but that isn’t necessarily how all of the topsoil was made originally.

Nothing you tell us has been witnessed by another living person, as such we cannot say it is repeatable or not or it happens the same way each and every time or not. When a car is manufactured, the parts are first made using already existing materials and then assembled. Once completed, the new car is 0 years old, although the materials used for parts may be thousands or millions years old. The carbon date does not mean the age of the Earth. God created the Earth using materials He created first and then assembling them to form the Earth. How could we tell the age of the Earth from some materials carbon dating? The creation story in Genesis was revealed by the Creator Himself and we MUST believe it, for God's words are Truth and He cannot say a false word.

Including your halfway-evolved species being wiped out by a natural disaster and subsequent overpredation, or dying off in a few generations because it can’t regulate blood acidity or body temperature yet and it will take thousands of generations to do so, which it won’t make it past three generations without. But evolution KNEW it was going to become such a cool organism, which is why survival of the fittest doesn’t seem to apply to creatures with half-formed wings or homeostatic control or one of the specific hormonal regulators it needs to survive yet. No, they all developed into a perfectly balanced ecosystem despite any that evolved too early being able to knock the who,e thing out in a few generations of eating and breeding prolifically, and a freak weather event nearly endangering fully functioning species within our lifetimes. This was an interesting Podcast I didn't know that soft tissue was so widely distributed in the geologic column. It would be nice if some sources could be linked in the description. I find in looking at the arguments for creation, most people are ignorant the science.They learn about evolution in school before they know much about biology so they have no idea what is being claimed. If one knows how complex living systems are it puts the claims of evolution into perspective. Sometimes simply describing the facts that are known about the complexity of life simplifies the discussion greatly. Before arguing with anyone about anything follow these simple rules. 1. Decide what your goal is. 2. Understand the limitations of your knowledge. 3. Define all your terms very carefully 4. Understand your argument 5. Be prepared to listen and respond to points 6. Decide in advance to have a respectful discussion or to end the discussion if this is not possible 7. Start by understanding where the other person is in their knowledge. Prompt them to summarise what they know about the subject and why. OK you are now ready to talk to someone. How to do you do that. 1. Come to terms with the person. That is, define carefully all the terms specific to your argument. Agree between you for the duration of your conversation what meanings will be used for those terms and stick to them. A huge number of arguments vanish because they are derived from a failure to agree on what terms mean. Once this is straightened out the disagreement vanishes. 2. If a new term arises in the discussion, stop and take the time to agree a definition. 3. Listen to the points that the other side makes and if you don't have a ready item admit it and go away and find out. It is more important to arrive at the truth than to win an argument.

Butj they have no argument against what science really says, so they create this whole fake version of scilencfe just to have something they can actually argue against. And you all just blindly believe it instead of checking what science actually says. It is truly sad how many people fall for this, just because they want to believe this

@@jimthomas1989 . . At last! A comment from a thinker! Humankind were around for over 100,000 years, at least, before God made Adam out of dust. Please note the distinction between "created" and "made". God made Adam and Eve as the progenitors of the bloodline of Jesus. This He did to make the holy bloodline distinct from the rest of humanity. They were also the test case for sin to enter the world when Adam and Eve first sinned, culminating with Cain murdering Abel. They were expelled from the Garden of Eden and forced to mingle with the rest of humanity. That's why Cain complained about his punishment. "Those who find me will kill me". Instead of trying to explain how Adam and Eve bred like rabbits and had all these children, grand-children, etc, who all wanted to kill Cain, how hard is it to believe that there were already vast civilisations already thriving on the face of the pre-flood earth? Makes perfect sense to me. For the life of me I can't understand why Christians can't believe in the age of the universe and the Earth . . and still believe God created everything a blink of an eye ago. Why can't the Big Bang be the way God brought everything into being? I believe that and I sleep soundly because I believe it. In the opening verses of the book of Hebrews we're told that God (and Jesus) sustain the universe with nothing more than His powerful Word! "Let the universe come into being, with all the laws of physics, biology, and chemistry required for it to come into being . . until I say different!!" I believe that's how God did it! Simple! Why can't you people believe it? The laws of physics, which creationists are quick to dispel, say that the speed of light is constant. So if we're seeing galaxies that are billions of light years away, then the universe must be at least old enough for light to have begun its journey from there to here billions of years ago. How can you believe that's not true? Do creationists also believe the Earth is flat? Do they believe it's supported on pillars? Do the stars revolve around the Earth every night? Does the Sun revolve around the Earth? All this and more is written in the Bible for all to see. I guess the main topic of contention is the word "Day". Was it all made in six literal days? Or was the term "Day" merely all the writers of the Old Testament had at their disposal to use as a references to the different epochs of the development of the Earth from when it cooled after God formed it 14 billion years ago, to the creation of life itself, to the creation of humanity? And no, I don't believe we evolved from pond scum . . and I view people who do believe that as idiots, to a man and woman. Why on earth can't people believe that God created life, and took His time doing it? After all, a day is like unto a thousand years, and a thousand years like unto a day in God's celestial sense of time. In the heavenlies where God dwells, "It is finished" . . The thief is in Paradise, and has been there for 2,000 years. That's in the Bible. Yet on Earth, in our dimension's timetable, the second coming hasn't happened yet. Can you open your incredibly narrow minds to accept the middle ground? A preacher once stated that science will never disprove the Bible. I accept that. But at the same time I accept that science will eventually work in harmony with the Bible, once more scientists humble themselves before God . . and by that I definitely DON'T mean they'll award the Nobel Prize in Physics to Ken Ham! I fully believe that the hard line six literal day creation, young earth theories will eventually dissipate in the light of increasingly accurate scientific investigations. I mean: they've all pretty much accepted the Big Bang theory as how matter, energy, and time came into being. How much further of a stretch will it be for scientists to finally, albeit begrudgingly, accept that in the beginning . . 20 billion or whatever years ago . . God really did create the heavens and the Earth?

Evolution has nothing to do with abiogenesis you heard a scientist or someone say that didn't understand what it really meant and ran with it while technically true it is also technically true that if there is no starting process to give way to life than you'd have nothing to evolve in the first place....DUH? So if you have a theory which asserts life all of life came from single-celled organisms billions of years ago you should have a process by which it would be viable for those single-celled organisms to evolve you know in order for your entire theory to start in the first place because it turns out if you don't have biological life to evolve you don't have evolution who would have thought. Kingyoung: You really don't understand how science works, do you. Lack the ability to separate it into its various fields of study, into its individual components. While related, evolution and abiogenesis are two separate fields of study. Yes, it's a big "duh" that there has to be life before evolution can take place. I will stipulate to that. But that is not what the TOE says. Google and read the definition and share with us any you find that says it involves abiogenesis. I am defending a well-thought out theory that is supported by mountains of evidence that creationists ignore, misrepresent or flat out lie about. The entire field of biology makes no sense except through the eyes of evolution. Frankly, even though abiogenesis has not yet been fully explained, many of the steps that would be required for it to happen have been learned providing in itself more evidence of life rising spontaneously than any divine creation mythological story has produced. We can agree to disagree...but I'm right on this. @@kingyoung5228

Did you know that the age of fossils is determined by a process of circular reasoning. 1. Fossils are found in sedimentary rocks. These are rocks that are made up of particles of lots of different rocks so they can't be aged definitively. The way these rocks are aged is to determine the age of nearby igneous rocks. 2. When a fossil is found its age is assigned based on the estimated rock it is found in. 3. The age of a sedimentary rock is determined by the fossils that are found in it. This is circular reasoning and links Geology and Palaeontology in a way that does not allow the argument that one field is authoritative. I hope this helps you to understand better why you post contains an error. The second statement Abiogenesis has nothing to do with evolution is also a problem. If you don't know what first life was you cannot determine what evolution did (or if it did anything at all) If you don't know where you started from you cannot know how far you have travelled. Let us be honest, most of the theories of life are predicated on the belief that life can arise from random processes. If that is the claim the starting point is inseparable from the process.

in ancient times people did not give complete listings of their family tree when giving their ancestry. in Mathew 1:1 for example the genealogy of Jesus is given as follows: "Jesus Christ the son of David, the son of Abraham". it is obvious that Jesus was not Abraham's grandson but that is in fact what the passage says. It is not an error, it is simply that genealogies were never written in the bible with the idea that it would be used to calculate time or establish chronology. Lineage is the only message of the biblical genealogies. It is totally obvious the bible does not include a number of historical events. The time between Malachi and Mathew is an obvious example etc. Scientific methods of dating and biblical methods of dating involve a large number of assumptions which make any attempt to give a biblical age to the creation or to Adam doomed to failure.

Before I turned to Christ, I was led astray with this idea that death has always been and that there was no reason to need a savior because the story I was told in school said that death had always been and man was born into a world that was full of death already. But later into my years I came face to face with pure evil. But then I prayed and Jesus showed up. He didn't say anything but he didn't have to from there. I tried to look up the truth myself. What makes it worse is that I grew up with my grandma who took me to a Baptist Church all throughout high school and middle school. But like I said, we're only in church for 1 hour a week. Whereas we're in a school 5 days, 8 hours a day being taught whatever the state wants to teach the kids. 40 hours versus 1 hour makes it really hard to learn the truth when you only get about 1/40th of the time for truth in a week.

As to the comment about professors and scientists on college campuses not being able to acknowledge creationism, one reason may not be that they have their religion as evolutionists, but rather also because if they did confess, "I was wrong," is that their living comes from being an evolutionist in their profession as a scientist or professor. The topography was changing under the flood waters, hills where formed like the hills of Pennsylvania and the landscape out west. This had to be the case because trees and living things are found in the coal thousands of feet underneath the hills or mountains. I conjecture that some or all Hills, (didn't check the bible on this) were not from the beginning part of the created world. Only after the flood did they appear. Species do lose genes, but that's because they're no longer necessary or actively harmful. And yes most mutations are bad, but in the process of natural selection they're not the ones that ultimately thrive. What he's describing is evolution. Selection pressures have changed and so will we. Sounds like he's not arguing against evolution because he concedes we are genetically changing over time, but rather the start date.

That was an interesting intro about being locked into their preconceptions no matter what the evidence says. Galileo showed us that it’s OK to use evidence from creation to re-interpret or better interpret the Bible. If you use the same interpretation, tools, or principles for genesis one, and Joshua, one, you come up with the earth centered universe. The only the reason we believe the earth goes around the sun is because of the science not because of some new Bible interpretation. So I challenge everyone to be consistent and since the Bible is full of empirical observations, we can’t deny that part, but we can question our interpretation to both both not just one.
@jairpoppelwell2120
@jairpoppelwell2120 Жыл бұрын
Question your view of history. Galileo's proofs are all incorrect, and Gallileo is not Copernicus. Gallileo, like Antoinette or Columbus, is a very publicly and loudly lied about figure by anti-Christ people. Ptolemys models were the best for a long time, Christians including the church adopted the Copernican model as proper proofs for it accumulated. This issue touched on theology very little, anti-Christ folks overstate the few 'Scriptural' arguments for Ptlomy when they were mostly an aside even in the Gallileo affair. The cult of ages is a very old religion, it's tied to the cult of Chaos or time (like the titan Chronos), and it represents a philosophy fundamentally antithetical to classical theism or in fact any concrete notion of truth. Remember that: when you're talking to a long ager you are almost certainly talking to someone who does not believe in objective truth. Their proofs are mainly bludgens of consensus tied to some actually quite weak hypotheticals. Ages of ages combined with chaos forming the ordered world would not be my #2 beleif about history, it's not even on the plausibility list to me. If not the Christian idea of history then the Vedic cycles or pure existentialism are things worth considering. Chaos into order due to luck proposed by people who don't even believe in truth is not. They are not scientists, but things using science as a skin-suit. This is why as their ideology grows science has left the places they take over. Since the 90s there has been a massive replication crisis in academia. This means science is not happening. I've been there while they fabricate data and spin just so stories about millions of years ago creatures that they know the diet of and the range of and how long it lived from a rather simple looking claw. It's just lying. It's not evidence in the classical sense. Their overwhelming evidence is the fact that they get many people, and a lot of powerful people, to lie along with them. And to them, that IS proof. Because they're relitivists, morals are dictated by the mob, truth is dictated by consensus. The basic philosophy of the Republican, the communist, the revolutionary, the humanist, is that humanity as an abstract is god, therefore humans agreeing is what makes truth. If you think you're talking to someone sensible in academia or whatever get down to the core of their moral philosophy, which is also their philosophy of truth. And something like this comes out. They can't articulate it cleanly but the functional essence of this is there. It's anti-Christ. Don't let the numbers of folk on the wide road convince you it's the right direction.

Exactly. Even if there is proven evidence that the earth (universe!) is not billions of years old, therefore it IS 6,000 years old is NOT scientific at all. Put more real research and develop FALSIFIABLE hypothesis/theories on alternative dating techniques that indicate the 6,000 years, then there is credibility. IT IS NOT EASY TO BE SCIENTIFIC. Science does not start with certainty and succeed by just discrediting everything else (assumptions, premises, yes, but not certainties - even the nature of 'time' is subject to scrutiny in physics). After all not even all Christians are certain that it IS 6,000 years by simple scripture reading. And there are lots of non-Christians for whom 6,000 years are not relevant at all! The world is larger than Christians or even Abrahamaics...

Most definitely it doesn't necessarily follow that the Creator couldn't have brought forth the universe and the Earth billions of years ago. Belief in a Creator is pretty common but the details regarding the Creator and the Creator's creation obviously vary quite a lot, even among those with a biblical worldview. I actually have an old/young Earth creation worldview. I see no problem interpreting the Genesis account to mean that the universe and the Earth have been in existence for billions of years, however, I strongly believe it was ordered and given plant, animal and human life approximately 6000 years ago. The six days of creation are about Earth, not about the universe. Additionally, is about an already existing Earth being taken from a Mars like state/condition to what we have now (or the perfection it had before sin and death entered in). The Genesis account gets dismissed by establishment science for a number of reasons; like the sun coming in the scene after plants have been formed. This might not make sense to the establishment but it is actually incredibly consistent with the entire Bible. For just a little teaser into the topic read the last two chapters of Revelation and you'll see what I mean. The Bible has two bookends, Genesis and Revelations, that help us to understand the beginning and the ending. If you read this and have questions/comments, I'd enjoy the dialog with you I'm sure 😊 Blessed day

They survived for millennia in permafrost by entering a state of suspended animation, according to a paper published Thursday in the journal PLOS Genetics. Genetic testing suggests the worms are a new and possibly extinct species, researchers said. Discuss.

@@johnglad5 The Bible says god killed every living thing that was not on the ark. These interesting creatures clearly weren’t dead. So the Bible lied? Or, the frogs were killed but they are supernatural beings who rose from the dead? Or, what happened to these creatures had nothing to do with a global flood.

@DPM917 First , the Bible does not say every living thing not on the Ark was killed. But I can see how you might think that. Does that one thing give you cause to dismiss the entire Bible? Grace

@@johnglad5 How then do you interpret Genesis 6:17-“I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it.” Is this just metaphorical or do you take these passages literally? You could argue that god wasn’t referring to plants or bacteria that live in an oxygen free environment (anaerobic) because they don’t “breath.” But frogs and roundworms definitely breath. To answer your question, no.

@@DPM917 Yes I was wrong. All the toads were killed. I'll have to look for another solution to the problem. God does not lie. I found the answer. Toads breath through their skin so all would not be killed. They would not be included in the breath of life creatures. Brings us back to the Bible. What is your answer to the toads buried deeply and still alive?

You do realize that just like tree´s ice creates yearly layers and that we mader drils where we had a continuous 800000+ layera meaning the lowest layers are over 800.000 years old, and when we use the tools we learned from dendrochronology we can even find layers that are several millions of years old. I think the oldest was like 4.5 million years old. This is undeniable and a 6 year old can understand it.

800,000 layers doesn't equal 800,000 years. The lost squadron (planes lost in Greenland during WW2) was buried under 260+ feet of ice and hundreds of layers in around 70 years. Layers can form rapidly by thawing and refreezing several times in a single season

@@alexbrandt8927 We can directly observe that one layer is one year. You can also easily see that the summer part has pollen while the winter part does not and other direct evidence that one layer represents 1 year. thawing and refreezing would not create a completely new layer, since this only happens in the summer, and we can still see okl this is the part of the layer with pollen, and the real growth happens in the winter. AS for your "evidence" you do realize that there is crevices you can fall into right ?? That is how you get below already existing layers. We also have situations where ice moves and burries stuff under it, to get under already existing layers. That way and using methods from tree dating we could find and identify even muich older layers going back up to 4.5 million years. The method is also pretty simple top understand. Not every layer is the same, for example you get summer that have morwe pollen then others, in some years you get more ice then in others etc. So you get a pattern kinda like a barcode that uniquely identifies where a set of layers comes from if you have enough layers in a row. That way we could over time identify older and older layers. The 800.000 was in areas where we had no or little movement in that time and thus the layers are still in the original order. But this is typical creationist, having no idea about how the method even works, or what exactly we are looking for, or how we meassure them, or any other details, and yet you think you know better then the experts because you thought of something you think experts doing this for a living overlooked. Did you really think experts did not think of such a basic fact ?? This is real science, where we only accept real evidence that has been fully thought out and tested. Not creationism where we take something and somehiowe shoehorn it into kinda soundiong like evidence till you trake a closer look at the details.

Do you realize trees rings don’t always equal 1 per year Also observation of layers forming rapidly and layers forming slowly add nothing to your cause. Evens out honestly.

@@alexbrandt8927 ice layers are formed with each snowfall..compacting the ones beneath. Not from thawing. But you are correct...a layer is not a year...or any set timeframe for that matter. However...the layers in ice and earth can be dated by what they contain...and the earth is way older than 6000 years.
