Hey Bree! I have been following your videos for about 6 months now and always appreciate your advice!! I graduated this past May (DNP AGACNP) and I recently started my first NP job with a Pulmonary/Critical Care group. Even though I was a CVICU RN for 12 years, there is still SUCH learning curve going into this role as a new NP managing patients in the ICU. The H&P cheat sheet has been super helpful! I just wanted to thank you for all of the wonderful content! 😊

Awe hi Marianne! It was a huge curve for me also with 16 years experience. Makes you wonder if you’ll ever feel comfortable. Good thing to know it’s normal for all of us! Thanks for the support and feedback and congrats on your job!!!

As always…great teaching. I love you and I agree 3 yrs is when I’m starting to feel more comfortable..However saying that I’m humbled everyday…I would say, using my resources has made my life easier…I don’t know everything but I don’t hesitate to call Neuro critical care to review images with me or call the CV clinician in our hospital to review an EKG I’m not quite sure about.. the bottom line is putting the patient at the center of our care and putting our ego aside! God bless all the NP’s out there…keep up the great work

Thank you for your videos Bree! I just finished my first semester of DNP school and your videos help me check-in with myself and refocus my journey through all of this. I was wondering if you could do an explanation video on NP hiring process. I did not learn until entering healthcare that many ICUs or even hospitalists are actually operated by physician groups and are not by the hospital. I was shocked! How do these partnerships work? Where do NPs fit into these structures?

Hi SC and congrats on crossing off one semester! Sure I can work on that. Great suggestion. I also found this to be a completely foreign process to what I’ve experienced as a nurse.
