Icy + Cold = Possible Power Outages - Will My Gas Fireplace Work Without Power?

I think all the convenience of a remote is undermined by the fact that in an emergency you don’t have batteries you freeze in the dark would rather have a rudimentary one with a millivolt system and be warm in an outage though they are extremely rare where I live

A few years back we were withiut power for 4 days and nights. My gas fireplace worked wonderfully, keeping us warm.
