Grandfather following WW1 was a steam boat captain on the Chesapeake Bay for the Ericsson and Green Lines for over 20 years, going between Baltimore, Betterton and Philadelphia. Remember stories of his boat getting stuck on the ice and having to off load cattle and cross the ice to the shore.
