Public employees must recognize their fundamental role in serving the public, as mandated by laws and constitutional principles. It is imperative that they understand their duty to prioritize public service over personal demands. This necessary shift in perspective has been long awaited, as it aligns with the principles underlying the proper functioning of public institutions and upholds the rights and expectations of the public they serve.

Hey, resident of Westford here. Let me first say that I also think we should remind authorities that we have rights as Americans, and if there is any real issue, we can and should work with or against authorities to find a solution. Nobody should be oppressed or abused by authorities, and if we are then we should fight back. Thing is, there is no real issue in Westford. We exist peacefully with and trust the police and we have really never had any major problems that I know of. If I get pulled over here, I give the officer my information because nothing bad ever comes of it and it makes life easier. They are even friendly. If I felt that the law where I lived was heavily unjust, I might have some second thoughts. Or I would just move if I could. I do think Henry called the police too early - Josh and Anna weren’t doing anything illegal and clearly the police werent needed, as the officer was there for all of about one minute and nothing was done. I just think Josh and Anna were disrespectful of Henry and Tina because they were uncomfortable, and Josh and Anna kept provoking them by recording them and refusing to answer some of their questions while expecting Henry and Tina to answer all of their questions. And most people don’t like being recorded by strangers, not even Anna. Nothing illegal, just disrespectful. I don’t want to put words in his mouth but I assume Henry felt uncomfortable that the camera was on him, and thought calling the police would alleviate him pretty quickly, because we trust our police force to handle situations quickly and efficiently. Also, bad things have happened in other publc places like Henry said. Although Josh did tell him he was just taking pictures and gathering free and public information, he didn’t tell Henry why and understandably this probably put Henry on edge. Josh and Anna had no bad intentions, but Henry couldn’t be sure. He knew that getting the police involved would be a good idea because if the situation turned bad, then they could immediately deal with it. If there was no danger, then our police would quickly realize that and leave without causing any problems, just like what happened here. In short, there was never a problem. If it were me, I wouldn’t have called the police but it wasn’t a bad idea at all. Everybody else in the town hall were very respectfuland handled the situation well, too. Thank you for reading, just wanted to offer some context
