Swamp chestnut is my favorite of all the oaks. Huge acorns and beautiful fall colors. Used to have 2 on acreek bank at my old house - miss them!

I'm growing 5+ of Oak Trees on the far left. I ended up having to grow inside my house because they kept stealing the ones I kept trying to plant outside. They already have leaves and it's too cold outside to plant them.😮

Lenny says: "I am not sure it will work, but at this point, I would try to keep the seedlings alive inside until this coming spring, then move them outside for the summer and fall. The gradual cooling and shorter day length of the fall should send them into dormancy. They may not survive as they typically need a dormant season. These acorns grew because of the warm temperatures and possibly extended light period inside. Normally the acorns would fall to the ground, get covered by leaves or planted by a squirrel and wait until the warmth and increased daylight of the next spring to sprout leaves."
