Good Video, My mom was born here.......Her class from high school, were the last ones to paint there Graduating class year on the mountain, just behind the school.....WAS 1939............John.....................

Loved visiting this area. Great info on the cemetery. People at AVA are good people to travel the river with and zip line etc. pick axe pizza pretty good. Also hit that dairy king on the way out of town in Empire. The drive from Idaho springs to winter park is sweet!

My work is at 10,000 ft up Highway 103. Mt. Evans doesn't close purely just because of snow. It closes because it's a natural breeding ground for bighorn, moose, bears and elk.

Another really good video! Peter Fonda was very young and he did a "skiing movie" and hung out in Idaho Springs because it was a really cool place, he drove around a 55 ish chevy. I cannot remember the name of it and I was not on drugs at the time. Seriously!

My friend lives up the mountain at St Mary's Glacier. Idaho Springs is pretty decent when you want to get back into civilization. The brew houses are guys and offer some great IPA's. The food is OK, nothing much to brag about. Best time to visit is going to be April-May and September-October.
