I've always used 'command + X' It's just like windows.. command + X'= cut 'command + C'= copy 'command + v'= paste I do like that one you showed though.. 'Command+ option + C' for cutting items It's pretty cool to learn new shortcuts! But, the easiest way to do this is the way i explained.

Thanks for the help. Though I was looking for something different in this video. I see a disabled "Cut" menu option under "Edit" menu of Finder. If the out-of-box Finder does not support cut then why do they have the option (though disabled) in the Edit menu?

this would have to be one of my biggest complaints of macOS. I really wish Apple would integrate cut into the right click menu and have Command + X be a cut command much like Windows, and the biggest problem with XtraFinder is that whenever I have a system update, that seems to break XtraFinder completely. It'd just make crossing over between Windows, macOS and Linux so much easier since most Linux desktop environments even use the CTRL + X and Cut in right click menu as well.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! My biggest regret of life - buying MacBook M3 Pro. The machine is great for "heavy" stuff but I've used Windows for day-to-day tasks. Using Mac, I feel like somebody tried me up with a thick rock! Having no Control+x to Cntrl+v is dumbest option. I mean it's very useful when cleaning and tidy up the data. You're using a destination to paste the item, why need a safety mechanism on cut->paste which is why Mac disabled that option!

this right here shows how dumb we as humans are. A company creates a laptop without one of the most key functions when it comes to organising and maintaining your files and becomes no.1 company in the world 🤣 The move function style of working is so trash it's ridiculous. It's such a hassle (for me) to organise all my files on a MacBook. I have a spare windows laptop to do the serious work and uses my Mac books solely to create stuff from a hard drive. Apple is so pretentious

Why not just drag and drop? It does exactly the same thing. I mean I would have understood if it was before there were the tabs ability in the finder app, but now i can drag it into the the tab i want it to go to. What your describing just seems like more unnecessary work.

Because sometimes you're not sure where you want to put the file yet, so you can cut it to your clipboard and paste whenever you've found the right location. Also, to drag and drop you need to different windows and that's not the case with what Jeff showed.

Still a pain in the ass that claw grip. Why not have a Command+X when you can press 3 buttons instead, right? But on the other hand restrict the user to one mouse button and never ever give him a keyboard with the delete button. And than insist on how ergonomic MacOS is.

Mac have a delete button. What would be a backspace in a windows keyboard is a delete button that works exactly like that.

Seduced and enticed by Macbook air M1 chips I betrayed windows and jointed the dark side where the force seems to be strong. M1 chip is strong however Mac Os is not. Windows is a better one in almost every aspect but intel is not. I am not a windows fanboy, been to Mac 10 years ago and switched to Windows based and now because of M1 chip back to Mac.

You actually don’t need external help. You can do that with both contextual menus and key shortcuts. The only thing that the 3rd party do is make it more obvious. Can’t blame you tho Americans have a tendency in never reading manuals so things like that can pass unnoticed

how do you cut and paste in outlook? (for example, in an email, if I need to cut and paste a sentence, I can't figure out how. I tried right clicking on the mouse and nothing pops up. I'm a brand new user.
