I homeschool my daughter and she has ADHD. THIS HAS TOTALLY CHANGED HOW FAST SHE LEARNS SUBJECTS! We start school earlier than everybody else. I like to include her in making every sheet that goes in the book. Mondays and Tuesdays we introduce new lessons and make interactive pages for them. She use the book for a quick review at night before bed. She LOVES school now. The website teacher pay teachers has MANY free pages to print for interactive books!! I just print and we decide what to write or draw. I do it that way because the book is HER study guide to understand the lesson. I make sure she has the correct information. If I make the book she want understand it lol 😂. She’s a great artist as well so she gets to learn and draw.

Hi James! I'm so glad you did this series about Interactive Notebooks. I've never seen such a thing here in France. It's really inspiring. I have so many things going for the year to come that I'm sure wether I'll do it next year, but I will definitely give it a try!

Thank you! I really need to update this; which I will probably do now that I have my vlogging series going. I also shot this video while I was out of the classroom and so I saved examples from my return last year (biology) and will definitely showcase some chemistry versions this year.

Hi James, thank you so much for such a thorough video about interactive notebooks! I am currently doing a field experience in a middle school classroom and the students use an interactive notebook (which is an idea I LOVE) but I wasn't able to see how they set them up. I absolutely love the rubber band bookmark (it is so clever!) and all of the resources included at the beginning of the notebook. I'll definitely be watching the rest of your interactive notebook videos :)

Could you describe a days routine using interactive notebooks? Are there any other portions you do during your periods or is it all about the notebook and getting things in it? Thanks!!

Hey James, Getting ready to start the school year and I am FINALLY going to implement the ISN. I've thought about it for a few years now and I've decided to take the plunge. I really like how you set your notebook up. I visited your TPT site, but didn't see any of the files like the questions starters, writing prompts, etc. Just wondering if you were going to post those or not?
@Bondwithjames7 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late response. I have to update mine because the ones I showed were something created by my team and therefore, do not necessarily belong for me to post. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi James, thanks for posting! I'm thinking of starting interactive notebooks in all my classes this year. Do you have downloadable resources for the Biology prefixes and sentence starters you showed in this video?
@kraftymomma19798 жыл бұрын
Great video! Where did you find your starters and references?
@Bondwithjames7 жыл бұрын
Several of the starters/references were created by my science team; or were shared years ago.

Do you have files of those sentence starters and reference pages you put in the front of your INB? Thank you!

Hello Violet - I need to redo them as they were created during work hours.

This video is very helpful! I’m a Highschool student and I just finished my sophomore year and I wanted to create a chemistry notebook containing everything I’ve learned over the year, all though I was wondering if you have a pdf of the Prefixes and Sentence/Question starters ?
@Bondwithjames4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I need to check my old files as I just saved a paper copy and reuse that.

Do you rather use composition notebooks or spiral notebooks. Do you have a copy of the six things worksheet of what the students can do on the left side?
@Bondwithjames6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Esther. I prefer composition notebooks because it's harder to tear the pages out; (it's still possible but I watch for that). I like spiral because they're larger in size but I've been able to work around that issue with the comp books by layering paper (and resizing documents prior to printing). The worksheet you spoke of is copyrighted (I didn't create it), but I do have a version that I created this past school year. I'll probably add it to my TpT store and will let people know once it is done.

Yes, I will need to redo it as this version was created during my professional hours.

Good afternnon James, I just recently purchased your chem 7 in 1 interactive notebook bundle, and have a question of how the set up is with the IGOs included. Are the worksheets/student pages used in either the right side or left side? I am thinking of implementing them with some being left side and others being right side depending on what my students need. But some insight into using this would be helpful since this is my first time tackling this. Also, do you have the student choice sheet(left side ideas) available? I saw you made one on one of your videos. I have found some online but none seem to be as close and clear as yours. Thanks hope to hear from you soon. -Raymond

Hello, Raymond. First, I apologize for the late response. I took some time away from KZbin and now I'm trying to catch up to all the comments. As far as how you use the pages, it's up to you. I personally use all the notes for the right-side and have students demonstrate their learning on the left-side. If using both sides works for you, then do it! I need to look in my files to find the choice sheet. I hope I was able to help you out!

Hi James I have 11th graders:) would you suggest setting up the ISN ahead of time ( for topics that lend itself to pre set-up) rather than during class? The periods are pretty short?
@Bondwithjames6 жыл бұрын
I do a combination of both. Although, I did run into an issue with my students this year in regard to them setting it up ahead of time.

Do you get a free period every day?
@Bondwithjames7 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't necessarily call it free, but I do get 1 planning period each day. Sometimes this is taken up by team meetings (PLC, department, or interdisciplinary). Thanks for asking!
