Where did you get your giant wall anchor charts that look like notebook pages (i.e. Plot Elements)? I love them!!!

Thank you for this! I started work late because of maternity leave, and I hate how the sub did my student's binders! 🤦🏾♀️ it's too much, and students are losing their papers or not turning stuff into where I have to dig for it in their binders! I don't have the time, not patience for that anymore!

Hello Jenna I will be teaching Ela for the first time at middle school level. Really love your notebook idea. Would you mind sharing a digital copy of your entire notebook?

This is great! Thank you so much for this video. I'm working with ELL/ESL students and am struggling so much with including the "creative and fun" side of learning into my class because I juggle so many different contents and sometimes even different grade levels in my class. I'm thinking of creating an interactive notebook for each subject (ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies/History). This way my kids could have something sturdy and beautiful that they make themselves to always refer to when they go from grade to grade and topics to topics. Do you have any advice or suggestions in terms of how to structure my class to incorporate all those ideas in? Websites where I can get the materials or ideas? Materials that you always have in class for creating those beautiful things? Thanks in advanced. And, thank you so much for putting this video out!

When ou print the grading rubric on the post-it, you then don't have a pad of post-its with it printed on, you have sheets of paper? Doesn't the posit not stick any more? Thanks!

Hi Jenna! I love your video on interactive notebooks! Is there a way to contact you to ask you more questions about how to incorporate the notebooks?

Hi! Thanks for this video. When students are numbering pages, does that include front and back pages? Or do they only number the front pages? Thanks

How often do you give a grade? At the end of the week, or the end of a unit, or the end of a topic?
@jennasmith57027 жыл бұрын
Hi! Usually once a marking period :)

I am a little confused on the input-output concept of the book. So when I give notes it counts as input and when students reflect and work out problems it counts as output? What do you suggest students write in the output page for a math class?
@musingsfromthemiddleschool24408 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is how the input and output works. But, I don't use them that way. I find it too confusing! I just give notes and activities as I see fit :)

Hi! I'm a first year 8th grade teacher and at my school I will be teaching 8th grade ELA, Algebra 1, Science, and Social studies. I am most nervous about teaching ELA as there is not a strict rubric and curriculum to teach from. Any tips? Where do you find your lessons and what to teach for ELA? I want to do interactive notebooks for Reading and Writing
@jennasmith57027 жыл бұрын
Hi! So, my lessons are developed using my district's scope and sequence. From there, I create my lessons. All of my lessons are available in my Teachers Pay Teachers store. You can also find loads of free lessons and ideas on my blog musingsfromthemiddleschool.blogspot.com. Hope that helps!
@shilliard367 жыл бұрын
Okay, thanks! Also, how do you start the year? Do you assess their reading levels or prior knowledge at all?
