Iden Wood Fishery & Chequertree Fishery - 3rd & 4th April 2017

I planned 24hrs at the specimen Lake of Iden Wood Fishery's but ended up at Chequertree..... I'm glad I did!

Nice trip down memory lane shame the fish didnt play ball. Have to say it looked a weird way to play fish were you playing them on the bait-runner? Also never seen anyone land a fish holding the rod half way up but if it works for you!

Rob thanks for your comments, someone else has mentioned that to me before, I don't normally manage a reel like that, but that little reel is one of my favourites and unfortunately the clutch is a bit temperamental, but clicking on the bait runner helps release the line. I could just get a new reel but there is still a bit of life in it yet. And holding the rod higher up helped avoid hitting the camera when it was on the chest mount.

Wondered if the clutch was dodgy. Thought there must have been a reason looked very awkward, the trials of a movie maker!!

Rob yes indeed, find something new every time I attempt one. It certainly gives you a lot to think about on top of fishing, but the positive response I've been getting encourages me to carry on with them.

What the helll you doing with your rod when you land a fish i dont understand why you dont use the rod properly instead you keep sliding you hand up the rod when you catch a fish

Well being a bit of a cac-handed left hander whilst trying to make sure I got a good shot with the camera proved harder than I thought.
