Very nice, I know some of the fish have grown tremendously since I was last there. Haven’t been in a long time, since I started at my syndicate I’ve pretty much spent all my time there. Should really get my arse in gear & put some videos together. Can’t believe it’s been 4yrs since my last one. But work & family was hectic. But has brought many exciting changes in my life. Maybe I should do a little blog & show people what’s been going on

cabman2006 hi buddy thanks for getting in touch. I know it’s been a very long time now almost 2yrs. But as you mention it I am currently putting a short catch up video together with some of my recent captures. Along with what I’ve been getting up to. A few months ago my wife and I finished up our tenancy at the pub we were running, that what was eating up a lot of my time and for a lot of 2018/19 I hadn’t really fished much at all, but I had been working on a few things. I now run a custom hook bait & carp tackle company called Carpers Essentials. It has been going for a around 6 months and it continuing to grow. So wanted the video to show some of that as well. There is a Facebook & Instagram page for it as well as a website go check it out. As for Chequertree because of my lack of fishing I’ve not been there for a while, but I do know their Lake 1 is still fishing well and has at least 2-3 30+overs in there now to around 35lb. So you in with even more of a chance of a good sized fish.

Angling Passion hi buddy, thanks for the comment. Yes there are plans to get some content back up and running. There’s been a lot of changes over the last couple of years since my last few videos. Around 6 months ago I started my new company called Carpers Essentials. I make hand rolled hook baits and supply hooks and terminal tackle, plus lots of other things slowly being added. So the intent is to start getting some sessions going and showcase some catch reports from my team members.

Fisherman and Biker Hi Buddy, thanks for touching base. Yes I do still fish. Although this last year I fished only a handful of times due to work commitments. But I have been working on a few videos that will be coming out soon, mostly based around a project I have been working on for the last 12 months or so. If you get the chance either head to Facebook and search ‘@banksidebaitsuk’ or Instagram ‘@bankside_baits’ in which I will be specialising in custom cork ball pop-ups. The business it self goes live on the 1st of Feb and come June I will be finishing my current career and concentrating on that full time. So all being well it will help launch a couple of new ‘series’ of videos in which I will spend a more time on the bank, travel to more venues and hopefully bank some more fish but also be able to help anglers with the products I put out. Hopefully that explains everything but keep an eye out & all will be explained soon. Steve 😎

Fisherman and Biker I would tend to use a curve shank hook probably need a size 8 for a 12mm then 15/16mm upwards use 6’s and 4’s all depends on your baits buoyancy as well, always check in clear water at home first to make sure your fishing as effectively as you can.

@StevieDCarpAngler
@StevieDCarpAngler 5 жыл бұрын
Fisherman and Biker this is on Lake 1 its the first lake that’s right next to the car park, I generally head towards the back part of that lake. It’s a multi species lake as the do holiday cabins etc for families so the lake has a great stock of smaller fish, roach, perch, bream etc. Then it has a high stocking of carp ranging from just 2-3lbs all the way up to the lake record which I believe stands at around 32lbs. But once you get them going on the surface or even on the bottom you should hit a good head of mid to high doubles, all put up a good scrap. But watch the water closely as there is always a 20lber waiting too.

In your opinion what is a better fisherie for a day session lovelace or chequertree? Also which one would you say produces the bigger carp? Thanks.
@StevieDCarpAngler
@StevieDCarpAngler 6 жыл бұрын
Dark Rambo, Chequertree is a pure runs water. You’ll catch every single time you go down there but it is quite heavily fished. I generally aim to go there when it isn’t so hot and avoid the summer holidays then it’s a lot quieter. Lake 1 now has a couple of fish over 30lb and their trout lake sports a 30+lb Grass Carp! Lovelace is a slightly smaller lake and generally produces a higher stamp of bigger fish, also I’m sure with a couple of Carp to over 30lbs. So it’s down to you really. Both are worth a go for their own reasons.
