V IS an actor. He made his acting debut in the TV drama series Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth back in end 2016-early 2017, alongside some very established and famous SK actors/actresses. He currently is in high demand by directors (many has expressed interest to work with him, including Xavier Dolan!), but he chose to postpone a career in acting to focus on BTS.

I don't think he'll act again. He had a bad experience with hwarang and went into depression. He talks about how he held in how much he was suffering from the pressure and the criticism until finally he broken down to jimin and cried and jimin was really worried about him so told the other members and they got together to talk about it with him and told him they can't help him with the situation but they can support him and he said he realized that he shouldn't keep things inside and should talk about them. But yea, I think he got scarred over what happened and won't tread into acting again lightly.

Hwarang is an amazing drama. It's funny, charming, action pact and just beautiful. Tae's acting on there was so natural and it was just him being him. He is sooo damn good! 花樣年華 is not Japanese. They are Chinese characters. 花 means 'flower', 樣 means 'appearance, shape', 年 means 'year', 華 means 'glowing'. So it means 'the years glowing like flowers', i.e., the most beautiful moment in life - the fleeting time of youth. In Korean letters (hangeul), it is written as "화양연화" and is pronounced as "hwa-yang-yeon-hwa'. Many Korean words have Chinese roots but these days most Koreans write them only in Korean alphabets. On the contrary, Japanese still use Chinese letters a lot in their writing.

Actually, I learn Japanese first before Korean. 花、年、and 様 are exactly what you mean in Japanese. Except I never seen the 4th one before. I did assume it was Japanese. Japanese glow is kinda like 光 if that what you mean like lighting. So they're technically not wrong haha. After all, Japanese borrowed some Chinese writing.

Welcome to the insanity and confusion that is the Bangtan Universe. Each of the boys represents an issue that teens have to deal with, Suga is suicidal, JK is homeless, RM lives in poverty, V is dealing with abuse, Jimin is dealing with depression, J-Hope is dealing with drug addiction, and Jin has to watch his friends dealing with these issues, unable to really help them. Also, the girl is V's sister and the man was his father in the fictional universe and you both noticed the main point of the song, that they could laugh and have fun when they were together but the bad things in their lives overwhelmed them when they were separated. That's why the lyrics were really supposed to be, "I need you, friend."

This was great!! I NEED U was one of the first songs that got me into BTS and I remember being so confused because I didn't know about the BU. Idk how much you guys have heard about the Bangtan Universe but most of their MV's are apart of it, and there are also short clips and highlight reels for it, there is a Webtoon, all of their albums come with notes for it, AND there is going to be a show soon! (Also they do have documentary movies, I watched both in theaters last year) But the BU is HEAVY! They go through a lot and it's a little complicated. Once you watch more MV's you should watch an explanation explaining the time line and what's happening in the BU and stuff. But besides the BU, you guys were right about how it can also mean it's important to have people you can lean on, good people you can surround yourself with. I don't really have any friends :') at least not any close friends, so that's why I hold BTS so close to my heart. They make me feel less alone and their music is what saved me. So, Jungkook goes out specifically to pick fights, to feel something. RM lives in a run down part of town and works at a gas station. Suga starts a fire to end his life. Tae is shanking the guy to protect the girl and can't live with the guilt. J-Hope takes pills. Jimin is also dealing with suicide, though he wants to drown. And Jin is sort of an "observer." Can't really say much without giving it all away, but just know that there are individual videos, solo songs/videos that tie in and even a "short film" that you'll need to watch. Plus the mobile game and WebComic, Save Me. I HIGHLY recommend watching xCelese's videos on the timeline and notes..... because it's a lot. And yes, it gets VERY dark. But just remember......these are CHARACTERS and not the actual members' backstories and traumas. Anywhoos, look forward to you going down the rabbit hole. It's a wild ride.

This is the beginning of the Bangtan Universe or BU. If you are going to react to the BU pay attention to the pairings. J-Hope and Jimin, RM and V, Suga and Jungkook, and Jin doesn't have a pairing. The original lyrics was I Need U friend, but it didn't flow right so they changed it to girl. The lyrics of this song really don't have much to do with this music video. Their ages ranged from 17 to 22 in this music video.

The characters at the beginning that they confused for Japanese are NOT Hangul.🧐💜 Hangul is very simplified, specifically designed to be easy for the peasants to learn because the previous (now formal) written language, Hanja (derived from Chinese), was so complex that only the upper class could invest enough time to learn it. For example, Bangtan Sonyeondan in Hangul is 방탄소년단 (Bang Tan So Nyeon Dan) but in Hanja is 防彈少年團. Hangul simplified Korean writing by making each character represent a sound that is then grouped together in a square with up to 4 other characters to form a single syllable. 😉 Japanese Kanji originated from Chinese and still has many similarities so it's easy to confuse and these characters probably mean the same in both languages. 花 樣 年 華 are the traditional Chinese characters Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa. Individually they mean flower, shape, year, and shining. The first 2 together mean "like a flower" and the second two mean "a period of time" so when you put all 4 together it's literally translated as the blooming period or flower-like years (meaning youth or adolescence, relating it to their "Boys in Bloom" concept) which is most commonly translated as "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life." *Special note: There is a 2000 Chinese movie and a Chinese song from a 1946 movie that both use this same name and the English translation for these Chinese works is why BTS' HYYH albums are sometimes also translated as meaning "In the Mood For Love" even though "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life" translation was their intended concept.

If you want to follow the storyline from this video look for the Bangtan Universe (BU). It is a transmedia story that includes text notes from their albums, a webtoon, a game called " BUS Game" (Bangtan Universe Story Game), short clips that are not MVs from their songs and a lot of fan theories. The story isn't finished yet, it keeps growing with new content and clues they slowly add. Many MVs from the Bagntan Universe aren't closely related to the songs' lyrics, so keep that in mind for the future. But I do think this MV and the main message of the lyrics are related. RM initially wanted to use "friend" instead of "girl" in the "I need you GIRL" part, but it sounded better with "girl" instead of "friend". Also, keep in mind that not all MVs from BTS are part of this storyline called " Bangtan Universe". There's also a parallel storyline/exploration that is about the Self, and it's related to Carl's Jung theories about the "Map of the Soul" (hence the title of some of their albums) and in those songs and MVs they explore the concepts related to the Map of the Soul, like "Persona", " Shadow", "Ego", etc. There are also video introductions to both storylines, so you could look for them in order to understand them better. 😉 And, by the way, Jin studied acting and V acted in a Korean drama called " Hwarang". Jin and V sing a song for that drama's OST. The song is called "Even if I die, it's you" (kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqWcn3yvr7Nqb7s), you could check it out. It's really good!

I'm so excited to see that you have found your way to the first video in the Bangtan Universe. It's an alternate universe where the boys have done other things. Like Tae killing his abusive father to save his sister for example. This then leads directly into Run (I have never been to a concert so I didn't know, but there is a short film between the two that was played a the concert). Side note, you may notice them running, that scene was part of the We are Bulletproof: the eternal mv. To aid you going forward, I would recommend this article on the BTS Wiki site. It contains all of the mvs, shorts, teasers, books, posters etc. connected to the BU. I have been waiting for you to discover this so that you can form your own theories. There have been many ARMY videos created with just that content, and it's exciting once you get drawn in to see how your thoughts compare to others. I cried when watching some of the things that happened in the BU because they are just so sad. These guys have talent on talent on talent, and the layers of meaning, and creativity and interaction just astound me. I have not ever found this type of content with an artist in the West, or honestly anywhere else. So here's the link to the article. A FEW TIPS WITHOUT SPOILERS + list of all videos in order to watch: 1. Jin is pivotal character in the story line, 2. Pay attention to the paired members, it is very important, 3. Always watch the videos to the end, because in the end there can be important scenes that many don't see, 4. Pay attention to every detail because everything is important and everything means something, 5. The stories of the members individually run through the whole story line, so pay attention to what is happening to whom and what is the atmosphere around him, 6. If you read the lyrics, it mostly has nothing to do with the story line as it almost never has anything to do with the girl as in this case (RM wanted the lyrics to go: I need you friend, but it didn't sound nice so he put: I need you girl), 7. Watch the videos in order to better understand the story line, 8. GVG! Love your brotherly bond as always 🤣💜 BTS messaging in their music has really evolved over the years as you can tell. I would say the darkest days for them were back in 2013 - 2016 where their lyrics often reflected on how one can easily fall into the dark side (not to say that they did, but more of because they went through tough times they can understand how one can fall into that kinda world) I think it is incredible how they created the whole BTS universe story.

There are actually BTS documentaries produced by BigHit: “Burn The Stage” (2018), “Bring The Soul” (2019), “Break The Silence” (2020) You can watch Burn The Stage on KZbin - kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5iqaplqgq9km7c&vl=en I actually just found out recently from my friend that the original intended lyrics for the chorus was supposed to be “I need you friend...” but after talks with the other producers, they made the decision to change it to “I need you girl...” bc it sounded better.
