Good rule of thumb is that the larger ones don't like to come inside unless they get flooded out. Tiny ones (German) are your biggest issue. Wood roaches, American, Asian and Oriental won't go inside since they prefer the humid air.

I’m so confused I was sitting out side and happen to notice german cockroach walk across my porch and into a siding crevice! Wtf! The German came from outside!!! Germans are not out door roach , either neighbor is so loaded they spreading to my house or German learning new tricks! I just had terminex treat house and lawn so how the thing not die before getting to my house? I called terminex after finding one roach and one nymph that were confirmed as German?! I’m so confused!

Look into Asian cockroaches and see if they are common at all in your area. They look almost identical to German ones, but live outside. If you saw them fly at all then they're almost certainly Asian.
