Identifying and treating Papaya Leaf spot and papaya wasp/fly infestation

Pat, thanks for sharing. Some years ago my papaya trees had the leaf spots and wasp. I sprayed but gave up as I could not control the disease or the wasp. I am planting another papaya tree this season and is determined to fight. Thanks for the encouragement. BTW my neighbor who does not like papayas or takes care of her trees has an abundance of papayas all year long, no disease, no issues😟

Wow! Isn't that something! Same with my neighbor. Their tree is loaded and I've never seen them pick them but I suspect they may have disease too. Hopefully it won't reinfect mine. Their papayas seem to stay very small though

Dish soap and applecider vinegar is also a way to was the papayas on your trees to deter the wasp flies.

For the badly infected fruit I get rid of them. Otherwise I spray the fruit with the copper when I spray the leaves and trunk. Remove from garden completely

If you keep your papaya trees topped off to a manageable height, you can keep a better watch on your trees, and you won't need a ladder to get to the fruit and leaves on top.
