I do have some AP II stuff but much less. I'm working my way through the histology stuff. Typically in AP II the lab becomes much easier (partly because you have the study skills to deal with it) and the lecture becomes much harder because there are a lot more interconnected physiological processes to understand! (Assuming you did skeletal, muscle and nervous in AP I...and Cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine, lymphatic, immune, urinary, digestive, metabolism, reproductive is AP II) Get a physical copy of the textbook if you don't already have it, you're going to need to be good friends with it!

He literally just told us to look at slides through a microscope because we would have to learn to identify them, but never taught us how to do so. I hope your next exam goes better! For practicals, assuming you have a set list of terms and concepts, studying with partners and taking turns asking questions can really help because then when test day comes...you've already answered the questions a million times. I also suggest taking 15 minutes before your test to clear your mind...listen to music and either take a walk or eat a snack. Whatever you need to do to be relaxed. Best of luck in your studies!

Hello anatomy hero! I always get confused regarding simple columnar and stratified columnar epithelium. I just want to ask if there are any tips you could give when identifying tissues similar to Guided Practice 1 because it looks to me like there are two layers on that slide or are somehow overlapping. Thanks in advance! I'm practicing for my exam next week :)

I am so sorry I did not respond sooner, for some reason your comment got caught in the spam filter! I know your test has passed, but maybe you still need to know the answer to this question for your final exam: In guided practice 1 you have two different layers which are being separated by a basement membrane. You always count your number of layers starting from the basement membrane and going towards the open spaces (this part I explain in the video). You also have layers BEHIND the other layers (those lighter colored nuclei are from cells behind the cells we are seeing in the front.) Stratified columnar will more clearly have two separate rows. @@tgummiees4520 the link I sent is for stratified columnar...pseudostratified columnar always has cilia (even the non-ciliated pseudostratified LOOKS like it has cilia, because it has structures called stereo cilia, which look like cilia but aren't)
