We live close to Morecambe bay and have a sandy, silt loam soil. It grows fantastic potatoes but regarding grass I use a generic fine fescue seed and it does ok. I really enjoyed watching this video, you have great experience and wisdom. Keep them coming and stay safe 👍🏻

Thanks Stephen, glad you enjoyed it! We are certainly trying to get videos out at least once a week, except Eunice had other ideas last week 😂 hope all is well near the coast!

Looking forward to a future video about improving clay soil without resorting to the nuclear option, i.e. dig it all up and start again! Really enjoy these videos, so informative 👍

Some great tips, I have rye and creeping fescue mix, think i overdid the raking as great got rid of the debris but also got rid of a lot of the rye grass leaving bare patches

Yes, you cant prune (increase) rye....it only works in the football industry as pitches last 7 months a year and a new one is replaced. They are also overseeded during the season, grow lights, undersoil heating etc. In a lawn.....expect 7 months as well

Great points and great channel! I know it's controversial among some turf scientists, but I've seen good results regarding my soil structure using humic acid.

Truegrass has humic, fulvic and amino acids all contributing to the soils each time you apply. Its not comparable to most feeds as its a feed and soil conditioner. Feed the soils and it all becomes a little easier.....

I do appreciate the other side of the coin at a time we are told by many that a Rye lawn is greater than an out of body experience. The lawn you scarified with the battery einhell is showing good signs despite the lowish temperatures since it was done.

In a few weeks it’ll be lovely and all that will happen is mow and feed. No seeding required, no top dressing needed. With a rye lawn you’ll have to seed as a yearly part of your program. Roots will be poor as rye doesn’t have many as picture shows.
