Def the #1 podcast for me! I look forward to a new episode every week! Also question for another episode in the future… How do you think your parents would react to you all dating/marrying outside of the Chinese culture? Or someone who is not Christian and how would you navigate that situation should that ever happen?

One reason I loved EEAAO was that for the first time it felt like I was watching my mom being depicted as a main character. I feel like as asian-american representation improves it’d be a shame to neglect our parent’s stories (who are technically also asian american even if we might not see them that way lol). Evelyn’s character showed that our parents may have had dreams of becoming artists themselves but instead chose more stable careers to support us, now that these second gen asian americans are becoming filmmakers it’s nice to see them keep our parents in mind.

That's how I felt about Squid Games. I watched it way after everyone was talking about it, and they hyped it SO MUCH. I had such high expectations for it, so I was disappointed a bit in the end. I thought it was okay , but for sure way too hyped

I was drawn to EEAAO because of quantum jumping and 💤😥 half way thru it as I found it’s more about mother-daughter relationship than a sci-fi

Wow... I never heard of a case that there is no 'inner voice' talking... I thought everyone has that...

I thought they made sure to purposely not even make her train her Chinese too hard so it would be more true to being an American grown Chinese immigrant children that never bothered to actually speak Chinese.
