An IDV Player Mech is not that much of a kiter if u kite pretty bad its fine as long as you have your doll so u can cipher rush Remember to also have snooze so u can decode longer with ur doll

Don't worry There are two types: kiting mech and non-kiting mech. Kiting mechs has pallet boost in their build with tide since they are sure they can last for at least a cipher or two, non-kiting mechs has snooze with tide and they just decode on chair. Both type is okay. If you are not comfortable with kiting, go with snooze and hide your doll really well. Also don't die close to doll. It's ok if you kite only 20 seconds, mech's main purpose is decoding, which can be done on chair. If you want to be a kiting mech, I recommend you to practice kiting with enchantress. If you can kite well with a normal character, you can do almost the same with mech, trust me. Feel free to main her, she's awesome uwu✨

If u have your doll out, it doesn’t matter too much how long you kite :) it’s so normal if mechanic die quickly

And actually, a typical kiter might not even be able to kite for 60s. Mechanic is not supposed to kite that long, if mechanic has tide , she can die faster than minds eye because minds eye always take windows pallets speed boost :) so if u can kite for 30s with mechanic, you’re totally fine

you should wait to get reswim, i used my second A unlock card on this skin and now that i got reswim from the essence i never really use it. reswim is such a cute costume tbh, probs the best one mech has in my opppinion

Also a quick tip to future mech mains: if your doll is supposed to be decoding and the message "Decoded" pops up at the left side, that mens it failed a calibration and you should watch out for the hunter to come (if he isn't chasing anybody) or just continue decoding. I'm just wondering, if you bring that trait when if you fail a calibration the hunter will not be notified (idk how it's called), does it also apply to the doll?

I'm mech main and yeah just like you sometime when theres an injured teammates i always use my me and my bot to decode and when i meet the hunter first sometime and i kited 60 sec enough i use my bot for body block or neither when i'm chaired i'm always continuing my bot to decode another cipher but sometime i rescued myself with the bot if it's a succes ㅠㅠ

Hey Mihri, I have a question I don't play Mechanic but my first instinct would be to first hide the doll near a cipher and then move further away to find one for my main body, rather than making the doll move later, thus wasting more of its energy on walking. Is it actually a good idea to do so, or the risk of someone getting injured and reducing Mech's decoding in the time it takes counters it?

Ok so, i think that u should hide ur doll as fast as u can bc if the hunter spawned really near u, u dont have the time to hide it, so i recommend to spawn it as soon as possible. I also recommend to rotate or hide if that is a common spawn and ur afraid of the hunter coming there.

idk this is just a strategy i use but i tend to start decoding without putting my doll out and once someone says "the hunter is near me!" i take out my doll, put it on the cipher i was decoding at and go to another one so i can bring my doll over to finish it after i finish my former cipher!! if the hunter finds me first i can use my doll to body block two hits. do u guys think this is a good strategy? i think this works better with vc tbh

I used to do that too but the problem is that if you get chased first then you will have to sacrifice your doll. What I do is that if I spawn in a very safe spot for example the hospital, then i wont put my doll down immediately because the hunter is very unlikely to come there first.

Here's how I play because I can't kite 1. start decoding IMMEDIATELY 2. Decode until the hunter hits someone or you get chased 3. If the hunter chases you and is too close try leading him to a pallet and drop the doll on the pallet while running (theywill most likely hit it since it's a tight space) 4. Tradition to another place and keep on kiting that way and you will maybe kite 3 ciphers or 1

I follow these tips but cipher rush never works if your teammates insist on coop decoding on _both_ your ciphers (bot and main body) even if you got there first :) Like hello? Decoder here? I'm supposed to be the one taking safe ciphers far from hunter spawn points?? Then when you're forced to adjust for them and look for a different cipher, you (or your bot) get caught in a bad area and downed by the hunter

i'm 6th mechanic in na/eu as of right now so here's my advice when it comes to getting first kite as mech! first things first, you always want to put the bot down and hide it no matter what. if you get teleported on by a wu chang or happen to run into the hunter, then no matter what just get away from the bot. hunters will normally prioritize hitting the bot (if they see it) so you cant cipher rush them. therefore, if they do kill it, use the second one to body block. it'll allow you to do a better kite, but it does feed presence so be wary of that. as a mechanic you do have to trust your kiting. if both your bots get killed and you're getting tunneled, you need to make sure that your kite was worth it, so just practice kiting more in quick match or 1v1s :)) however, if they don't see the bot, then you're already doing good! just kite as long as you can, and since you have the bot out, it won't really matter if you do a bad kite or not, just make sure you don't die by the cipher closest to your bot and you'll be able to decode in chair. your goal is to decode at least one cipher with the bot, or at least get a good amount of progress onto one of them. i would also like to add that sometimes you can carry broken windows on mech! my preferred build on her is broken/borrowed time with snooze 3/3, exit path, and then sticker with my leftover points. if you have 2 people with tide on the team (or just 2 rescuers) then feel free to carry broken or tide depending on what you're comfortable with. if your team is in need of a second or first rescuer, carry borrowed time/tide turner with kneejerk 3/3 and exit path

ok i got the plays that only an S tier mechanic just like u can do: 1. forget rotating: hunter is never gonna find me cuz i am the king of luck and rotating wastes decoding time 2. Who needs doll for gate opening: use 1 quarter of the battery to make the doll get to a faraway cipher then waste some more time by making it come back 3. Don't rescue first despite being nearby and merc being on wanted order. mech is a decoder not a rescuer, tt is just for show.(note at 2:44) 4. and overall the first game was won because priestess kited good, and mechanics contribution to the win was good, but not much better than another decoder

Mech is a rescuer but not a first rescuer ;-; cause when the second rescue happens a lot of ppl are injured só She can rescue since She wont do much cipher with the main body and if She rescued first She would be wasting decoding time where there is only One person injured. This is my opinion btw i am not a pro player xD

I'm not sure what you meant by all that exactly. If it's criticism, then well, literally none of the things you mentioned were mistakes. 1. For rotation, you need a good team coordination. If only some of you move, then it kind of loses the point. Especially if Mechanic rotates instead of decoding and someone who didn't gets a hit - it means she did 0% cipher and is already on reduced decoding speed. 2. Her doll BOTH decoded the cipher and opened the gate. No point of keeping it waiting and doing nothing if its energy is enough to provide the two things. 3. Mechanic is not the first rescuer and Merc was still nearby - why force an early rescue (considered a bad decision on high tiers) with a decoder if an actual rescuer easily made it? 4. Yeah, it's kind of the kiter's job to kite well and give the rest of the team enough time to decode. She did a good job containing without getting the first hit until a big percentage of Mech's cipher was done, but it was still Mechanic who had a great part in this victory by ensuring cipher rush, rescuing in the right moment and opening the gate.

i disagree with the first, rotating and hiding is so important and hunter never find u, not all have luck. Second yes mech is always second rescuer if she brings tide so im ok. And third mech is one of the best decoders, yeah she's strong but u cant expect that she will do 5 ciphers in 30 seconds

Joanna Bąk for 3. She was closer to the chair than merc( note that when hunter chairs she was quite near the chair). Secondly merc had wanted order on him so there was a chance of him getting blocked midway by the hunter if he was still decently far. And 3rd sculptor is still not at max presence thus her camping isn’t really strong, and given that merc’s tt is more important than mechs, merc can contribute more towards decoding than mech at that moment, and assuming both are able to rescue( it shouldn’t be that hard against a non max presence sculptor), then it’s best to preserve mercs health and tt towards endgame
