On 25th January 1971, General Idi Amin Dada overthrew the elected government of Dr. Apollo Milton Obote, declaring himself President of Uganda. On becoming President, Amin stated that he was not a politician but a soldier and was therefore going to use the military to oversee the running of the country. Much has been said about the nature of Uganda’s army during Idi Amin’s rule, ranging from fierce brutality to extensive executions of civilians. In an exclusive interview with two retired soldiers who served in this army, we learn what really occurred in a bid to separate fact from fiction.

I must appreciate one thing about Idi Amin Dada was that he didn't discriminated about religion he expelled Indian Hindus and Pakistani Muslims and Bangladeshi or South East Indian. That proves he was not fanatic he was a nationalist. He was thoroughly Ugandian

Seems as though the Americans DUMPED their obsolete Sherman Tanks from WW2 onto a buffoon who thought that he had a Sooper Doooper State of the Art All-Singing All-Dancing Ugandan Army. Hardly surprising, therefore, that the Tanzanians quickly overran his country, forcing the coward to flee.
