No they were pretty accurate about that too. Don't forget that intelligent people still exist in society today. I know most of us spend most of our time removed/hiding from society... but we do exist. It will take a few generations at least for all the intelligent folks to be removed completely. We are just experiencing the major catalysts that put us on this defined path to stupidity.

I can confirm that. I live in South Africa, and there was a time when it used to be governed by entirely white folks, hell they founded the nation, and were its architects, progressiveness was in our blood, and many of the worlds great minds come from here. But of course the world interfered because of Apartheid. We were forced to hand over our nation to the African majority. And there issue. 1 They had no formal experience in building a nation let alone running one and understanding European systems. 2 They are still a Primitive culture that believe in all sorts of voodoo 3 They arent very developed as a people in general, and have always been, hundreds of years behind in their thinking and methodology. So you can imagine what followed. South Africa is on the verge of total collapse, corruption and crime is amongst the highest you'll ever see, and minorities, consisting of white, Asian and other, basically have no say, being outnumbered and out voted. And it doesnt matter how worse things get, the Majority keep voting complete idiotic corrupt politicians into power. Ones who make up stupid shit like, if you don't vote for my party, you wont go to heaven, and they fking eat that shit up. Now you see why we had segregation. Because the African majority just doesnt have it in them to be running any country what so ever, because they wound up just worsening their own lives and you guessed it, still have the audacity to blame racism and white people for it, while their own leaders have been caught red handed for stealing many times. They refused to believe that they can ever be at fault. Theyre like children who throw tantrums at every turn, making demands because they think theyre entitled to it, and its never enough. Tip of the iceberg, but yes, ive seen first hand what idiots can do to a country. Why else do you think Africa is the way it is?. But anyway.

It was basically a documentary when it came out in 2006, things have only gotten worse since then. I graduated in '07 and remember thinking how dumbed down our culture was. @Romess1
@Romess1 8 ай бұрын
@@EVA-ki5vw patriotism leads to an autocracy which runs the risk of becoming totalitarianism so how about a meritocracy? People are valued based on what they bring to the table rather than in which crib they were born. This would result in a wealth redistribution which would eliminate poverty (basic income) while people who add wealth to the economy get an additional reward (real wealth like employees in healthcare, not like bankers, investors and other BS jobs)? This could be the utopia we seek. People need to find their purpose in the grand scheme of life again and stray from self-enforcing mechanisms of capitalism.

The provided transcript is from a KZbin video discussing the movie "Idiocracy" and its relevance to contemporary society. The video highlights several key points and takeaways: 1. **"Idiocracy" as a Warning:** The video suggests that "Idiocracy," released in 2006, was originally seen as a satire but is now viewed as a warning about the direction society is heading. 2. **Dependence on Corporations:** It explores how both in the movie and in real life, society is heavily influenced and controlled by corporations. People are dependent on products that may harm them. 3. **Misinformation and Manipulation:** The video mentions that misinformation and manipulation play a significant role in shaping society, much like in the fictional world of "Idiocracy." 4. **Story Summary:** The video provides a summary of the movie's plot, where an average man from the past wakes up in a future dystopia where intelligence is declining. 5. **Environmental vs. Eugenics Perspective:** It argues that the film is not advocating for eugenics but rather highlighting environmental factors that contribute to societal decline. 6. **Dumbing Down of Content:** The video discusses the prevalence of content that caters to the lowest common denominator, promoting instant gratification over deeper exploration. 7. **Incentives for Careers:** It mentions that societal incentives, like fame and wealth, encourage young people to pursue careers in entertainment rather than fields that contribute more meaningfully to society. 8. **Corporate Monopolies:** The video points out the dominance of major corporations in various aspects of life, including media and food production. 9. **Unhealthy Lifestyles and Profit Motive:** It explains how corporations profit from addiction and unhealthy lifestyles, as they also invest in industries that treat the resulting health issues. 10. **Collective Responsibility:** The video emphasizes that individuals who recognize societal problems must take action instead of simply avoiding them. 11. **Call to Action:** The video encourages viewers to take time away from consumption and distractions, suggesting that a return to mindful living and engagement with the world could help avoid the dystopian future depicted in "Idiocracy." The video highlights the parallels between the movie's fictional future and current societal trends, drawing attention to issues related to corporate influence, addiction, and the decline of critical thinking.

From pre-school to high school I thought it had always been like that. Then I had some free time and I was able to start learning. Realising that it's the principle of education to prevent children from learning when they're in the age bracket with the greatest ease of learning and a peak IQ between 16 and 20. I realised this at the age of 7 when my classmates started singing the name of the far-left candidate that the teachers were promoting. As if going home would have any influence on their parents. After that, it was all communist teachers all the way through. I suppose that today it would be by seeing the men dressed as women wiggling their arses in front of the pre-school class that I would have understood. Every generation has its calamity. In 10 years' time it will be the white children who will be happy to serve their black comrades.

I had not a chance to see this movie until about a year ago. And when I did, drawing all the parallels I see in the modern world, it made my blood run cold. This movie was way ahead of its time, and was a grim foreshadowing of what will happen if we as a society can’t reverse course. I am happy I saw this now as opposed to when it came out. If I had seen this at its initial release, I don’t think I would have noticed the parallels our society is following. Thank you, Mike Judge, for making this. And thank you Moon, for drawing attention to this.

I think there are time travelers. During a siege in Europe, a strange alchemist offered his services to both European and Arabic armies. Only the Arabs have him a chance, he helped them mix their gunpowder in a way that they created a MASSIVE hole in the walls of the city they were sieging. (It was Vienna I believe). This is just one example I can think of, wherein strange things happened that seemed "out of sync" IMHO. It's just a theory though. History herself is constantly mutating.

Any true Beavis & Butthead or King of the Hill fan would tell you these shows aren't just comedies, but also accurate depictions of real life events and concepts in the form of parody. Something that our current generation will always glance over, or deny and would give any sort of answer with no wisdom behind it whatsoever.

@@GuardianStriker you reminded me of a show that satirizes satire. South Park. Terrance and Phillip are Gods to Kyle, Kenny, Stan, and Cartman. I watch South Park with my satire mind on. I don't laugh at the show, but it's interesting how well South Park parodies everyday life. It's still sad to know that people find being annoying funny. Being annoying is being annoying. PS: a key to making me laugh (and I don't usually laugh at much. I sit through stand up comedians and have watched comedy movies without so much as an amused breath if you're lucky) is to show or tell me about something that hasn't been thought or said before. And situational comedy in my everyday life can leave me wheezing. Just recently, I was cleaning my room. I wanted to see what was in a box of headphones before recycling it (it felt empty but if it had a cable we save them in case a device needs a cable for something.) A piece of foam from the box dropped to the floor. My dog literally dives onto the foam piece and runs out like it's a trophy. My mom had to try every single type of treat to stop the dog from owning the piece of foam. The humour was that dog treats and human food that dogs eat and love weren't as appealing to the dog as the piece of foam was. That was unexpected and thus I was wheezing on my bed. The dog didn't eat the foam but he tried to bury it like it was a bone. He's healthy. We take great care of our fur babies. The tag line to the dog foam story was that my mom had to bribe the dog with peanut butter covered dog treats to get him to drop the foam. Mom: "I can't believe this. I had to bribe the dog with lots of dog treats and peanut butter and he still put up some refusal. He eventually was sold on the multiple types of peanut butter offered but damn, what a negotiator he is!"

Everything is impossible and when their main form of media is influencers and entertainers making money doing nothing, it becomes a no brainer for these kids, and they havent been around long enough to consider the ramifications. I can agree with you on that but I often wonder if it will even matter in about 5 years or so. Chatgpt 5 is releasing this year when chatgpt4 just came out and it is getting insanely better and better faster and faster. They are working on robots and once they manage to get a good working consumer robot, insert chatgpt into it. Now you have unlimited workers who never tire, never sleep, dont need breaks or lunch or use the bathroom, working every job with extreme efficiency and productivity from janitor to doctor/lawyer. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter even if the kids wanted to become scientists and whatever because our future will most likely be entertaining ourselves with dumb crap while AI runs everything else in our lives. It's sad but it is 100% coming and theres nothing we can do to stop it because profits drive companies and cutting every worker reduces costs by billions of dollars. I wonder how they plan to pay people because they cant sell us anything if nobody has jobs or money which makes me think itll be some universal basic income that you can then make more money by being an entertainer on platforms like this one, sad world but then some of the companies in the AI field are researching UBI because they know exactly where we're heading. I honestly dont know if its a good or bad thing for humanity but I do not like this vision of the future myself. Work gives humans purpose even if they have no real purpose, I believe people will probably create virtual worlds that function like the real world used to before AI and live in those worlds while AI in the real world keeps them alive lol who knows but the soon to be future is going to be unrecognizable and very weird
