They got stopped by drug cartel members that thought they were either rivals or the authorities. They ended up letting them go when they realised they were just innocent people that were lost. They were actually pretty nice to them and apologised for scaring them. There is a much longer video of this out there. I guess it’s funny because two gay tourists got the sh*t scared out of them?

The dashcam GPS location★ is a bit west of Palenque and Ciudad del Carmen, in Mexico. I'm having trouble catching what the guys outside the car are saying (Spanish is my second language), but I think this is in Tabasco, which has fairly high crime rates, so it's not inconceivable that this is a police or army checkpoint (on a side road people might use to avoid obvious checkpoints on the nearby highway). It is a little odd to see tourists who speak no Spanish driving side roads in Tabasco far from any real attraction, though. ★ (18.035268,-93.709115) or N18.035268, W93.709115
