IDIOTS' GUIDE TO RIDING LLANDEGLA ON A HARDTAIL

We head on over to one of the UK's most popular trail centres of Llandegla. Here father and son, Jim & Tod take on the red and black routes and showcase all the centre has to offer, whilst being joined by mates. Sonny is back out riding after the broken ankle and Jim is again riding Sonny's 29er Stanton hardtail. We review the new Camelbak Sternum protector/camera mount and Sonny puts some of our fresh winter Ion gear to the test.

I went from riding a Giant trance to a Custom Dartmoor Hornet recently as i wanted to build something with good geometry and high end components without going too crazy with spending, came to around £3000 all in and i have to be honest it rides AMAZING! (better than the trance imo) i regularly drop riders on fully fledged Enduro bikes and im consistently blown away with how well it can handle techy trails and features. keep shredding man, love the vids!

My first time at Llandegla I had a go on the wood work (north shaw) & fell off to someone riding past shouting YOU DID'T WANT TO DO THAT. LOL good bit of fun & a good place to mess about on jumps. My old GOPRO did the same thing I got fed up with having to take the battery out all the time to reset it. then one day nothing the thing just stopped working all together. The first black bit was better when the trees were there. Good one Tod I have only every done the cake climb (as I call it) ones. When ever the wife & I go to Llandegla we always ride the red & black (same as your ride) & go & get a coffee & cake & then back uk & do the Blue as it is a good flow trail to finish off the day & if the cafe is still open we get a good meal to finish off the day. Good footage with the chest mount & sound is good.

Double an elastic hair tie round both the loose end of the tape adjuster and the main strap, then feed the end back through one loop of the elastic...stops the tape sliding.

Only on the occasional rough DH bit, Degla is perfect for a hardtail really

nice vid guys, & 100% agree with ya about parking fees, degla is pretty local to me, pisses me off when you see some tw@ts 4x4 parked down the way cuz they dont wanna pay the £4.50 charge, but they are happy to ride the trails & use the facilites, penny pinching fkers! ..id understand if parking fee was stupid amount, but £4.50...takes the piss! ..but yeh nice vid anyway guys ;) ..a little tip for next time regarding the fire road climb, just as you get onto the start of it theres a right turn you can take, this leads onto another fire road heading same direction but straight to start of the trails, this cuts out about a 1/3 of the final climb & the crappy forest bit at the top ;)

Llandegla is horrible on a cross bike use to train there for cyclo cross purely because its brutal not good on the wrists or back
