I’m from Fort Worth, Texas and I love the Iditarod. Really enjoyed the coverage of the race this year. Greg Heister was born to be the voice behind the Iditarod. Hopefully Waerner and Mitch come back for 2022 and give Dallas some problems. At no stage of the race this year did it feel like Dallas wasn’t going to win. I hope he competes in Europe again soon.

I have always followed these races through the years. Absolutely amazing what these teams go through. I hate hearing all the tragedies that occur during the races. The history behind the Iditarod is wonderful! Thank you for sharing!! 💛💛💛🐕🐕🐕🦮🦮

The history of the Iditarod is about a necessity during that time that required the use of those dogs. I don't think that's necessary to commemorate that every year due to the grueling of the race and what it does to the dugs.

it is so great to see Dallas win. I have boycotted the race since Dallas was WRONGLY harmed.

Sepella actually has said Togo deserved more praise than Balto. But Balto was indeed when the serum arrived in Nome. Seppella and Togo ran over 200mi to Baltos 80ish I think also Sepella owned both dogs.

I assume there must be some reason of which I am unaware, but I'd certainly expect that there are enough volunteers to allow mushers to build small fires during their mandatory stops, if desired? They'll either have to forage for stuffs or perhaps that's some supply left ahead like with the food? Seems impractical to bring over the sled runners? Just curious. Maybe they already CAN but just DON'T and its not mentioned for whatever reason. Does anyone know? In most stops, it doesn't look like much is growing for to MAKE fire, so maybe its just wholly impractical.

All their food ,straw for dogs and water are at most check points ahead of the mushers coming thru on race day , they light fires yes to heat water to make dogs hot meals . now a days things are monitored big time since dallas was acused and then cleared of doping dogs to win . CAUSE SOME LOSER WANTED TO RUIN HIS NAME OUT OF JELOUSY . Hope this little bit of info helps you . I love the Iditarod heres hoping that dallas makes it six !!
