Personally I would love to see an Oceanic/water entity. Because right now the best way to combat a Dweller or other horror mob is to build your house in the middle of the ocean and use a boat to get away. A Nure-Onna can work for it - it’s a Japanese Sea Serpent with the face of a woman. It would be kind of terrifying to hear distant singing, or seeing random dead fish float to the surface (yes, Minus One reference) when the creature is around. You look down and can faintly see a serpentine silhouette floating below. Horrifying. The way to distinguish this creature from Manbear and the Obsessed is to use the prime scare factor of snakes - the fact you cannot always see them. They blend in and hide away from sight. Instead of taunting you, this thing will try to be sneaky and to get to you closer that way. This creature can also become “frustrated” if it fails to catch you multiple times, idk how that frustration can manifest though.

I'm honestly disappointed this mod will likely not be released. I've been keeping up with the series in the hopes of actually playing it. I understand not wanting copy cats but that wouldn't take away from the original in this case with how unique and interesting it is. I hope someday we can actually also play this mod as a community.

I think it's not a real mod. If you pay attention you can see the mob is just a model with very basic AI if any. It's not being released because it doesn't exist, it's just smoke and mirrors and a scripted and heavily edited video. We're told that the creature has a complex AI but this is never shown in any of the videos. In fact the editing deliberately goes out of its way to cut the creature as much from the content as possible so the illusion doesn't fall apart. If you check the creator's mod pages, they have no visible modding experience. Then they say they don't want to release the mod because it might be "stolen" (which makes no sense).

I have a idea that you could add. Maybe every 5-10 Minecraft days, the closest village ( that you are not it ) will get raided / destroyed by the man bear, and you could use something like the horror elements mod to use villager bodies. Also, maybe it should be a village they have already discovered. It you want it to be a bit more funny, you could put loud “har” from the villagers and the noises from the man bear, and play it while the player is around the man bear so they think it could be a wandering trader and go out, but discover the man bear..? Also, if you are playing multiplayer make there be a in game voice chat that has spatial sound so if your friend dies, when the man bear is close it plays the last noises of the friend before they died. (If they did)

Honestly I could speak for everyone, you have to release the mod. So many people are straight up asking countless of times when is the mod going to be release and eventually ppl are going to be impatient. I don't think the mod is real. The creator has no previous modding experience (their only uploaded mod, Dweller Reimagined, says this: None of the work in this mod was created by me! I simply combined a few mods into one because, separately, they were incompatible. All credit goes to the respective mod creators. Do not ask me to improve certain aspects of the mod; again, I'm not the developer behind all this work.). It's never explained how the AI works, we're just told it's very advanced but never demonstrated. The editing and running around deliberately prevents us from seeing the manbear actually do anything, and when we do see it it only runs towards the player and attacks. Everything else like the bear traps or it talking seems scripted or edited into the video in post.

oddly enough, i actually had an odd dream last night, wherein i was being hunted by that manbear, despite only watching of few of your videos so far. it took place in some sort of city setting. for some reason i was trying to placate it by bring it the bodies of people i had killed, but it didnt work and it still came to kill me. just a weird dream thing, featuring something i had watched a couple weeks ago. it does make me think bringing the monster food to get it to leave you alone could be an interesting mechanic for a spooky mod.

I feel like your death may have been slightly unfair since there was no way for you to know there was a bear trap. If I may suggest something, you should totally add a model for the bear trap that can still be slightly hidden by grass and snow, but at least visible so that you can avoid it if you're really paying attention.

I don't know how feasible this is but it'd be cool if the Manbear was more likely in to go after those who are weaker, whether this is low Stamina or Health, similar to how a real predator might hunt. It'd add more stress as you'd have to make sure to mind both bars and it'd be REALLY stressful in areas with little food sources.

I've gotta say, it sucks that this won't be released after it was implied that it would be. It honestly feels almost like a taunt to work on a really, really good mod and showcase it and make people get excited for a new mod to shake things up, and then just go "lol y'all don't get it tho" when the reason for not putting it up is going to happen either way. Remember, you've mentioned the mechanics (including the more unique ones) and how they work so people are going to copy it anyway because they know what it does. Swayle has done this before and he'll end up copying this one too, so why are you even bothering not to release the original? It feels like a waste of effort to have even made it if it isn't going to be shared with people who wanted to play it and will only be used for your content. I genuinely feel disappointed, and it's hard to respect that decision when it won't even change anything. Gatekeeping a genuinely good mod for your content is a pretty scummy move, man. You shouldn't have even made videos on it.

It's likely not a real, functional mod in the first place. He didn't show any code or explain how it actually works, just implied that it could do a number of things. He probably has a model but no real code for it, and everything that happens in the video is scripted, and then everything is heavily edited. It's all smoke and mirrors.
