But isn't the implication of a boner usually that blood flows away from the head and you don't think clearly? I'm also curious why it's a nosebleed. Is there actually some condition that makes your nose bleed when you are aroused, like when you have some kind of high blood pressure issue? The connection to me makes no sense

@@Reac2 I've always thought it was just a very effective way to express a sudden awkward reaction without being too overtly sexual - they're both things that can happen sort of suddenly, in awkward situations and that you have to deal with in order to save face. From what I recall, there's also people who are prone to nosebleeds in exciting/intense situations, so it very well could be that people having such a reaction in lewd situations became a meme in Japanese culture and that transferred over to manga & anime. I doubt it's too tied to the actual cardiovascular reaction side of things, but who knows.

That intro rant about pervy characters in media was so cathartic, especially with anime. Honestly it kinda reminds me of dumb romance in otherwise good books that interrupt the main plot.
