Great bit of info… I have a 2.4 mk7 that for some reason after oil filter egr clean and inlet manifold clean it’s not liking starting…. More of an issue when it’s warm. All because not fail on emissions

@@stevenblack9644 could you give me some more detail bout how it’s acting when trying to start? Coughing and spluttery or just crank and nothing?

hows it going mate, ive got hunting on idle, intermitent cut outs at junctions and black smoke at high revs on a transit 2.2l tdci mk7 euro 4 fwd 2007, read in the forums about replacing these valves and doing appropriate learns on forscan curing it, i'd be getting PRV and SCV from ford direct, you think that'll fix from your experince? one guy suggested just doing a learn 1st before buying any parts cheers
@channelofmadness31827 ай бұрын
From my experience when they start cutting out, it’s pressure relief failure. But I always advise doing the same things first before messing. Bottle of redex slightly higher concentrate than it says on the bottle and a good drive. Not full throttle; just a long motorway drive. Then fresh fuel through after. And if that changes it..:: but doesn’t fix it. You could try a learn but nearly always it’ll need replacing soon anyways
@elgrobbo70586 ай бұрын
Done a couple fuel treatments, forscan said resetting PRV counts was "not supported" but allowed me to do pump and injector learns, basically exactly as it was after that, relatively ok until warm then starts hunting and eventually cuts out. Going to get SCV + PRV off ford tomorrow, then got a guy from A1 tuning to do PCM update and learns for me after I fit them. Unless you're near Bristol I'll pay u to do it this week 😏

@@elgrobbo7058 hey man yeh definitely get SCV AND PRV replaced in that case. Very likely to be them! And I’m in wales not massively far, but they aren’t hard to do and I’m sure a tuning company will do the job right :) but let me know if you have troubles :)

@channelofmadness31824 ай бұрын
@@JoshTheDoshSkateboarding hello, could be a number of things but at that age I would look at a very very quick and small sniff of easy start or the correct method is a bleeding tool. As it’s likely diesel has run back to tank. Secondary issues could be ignition switch or timing sensor failure so injectors don’t know to come on. But that’s why easy start is good, if it carries on running and starts after. It’s not a timing sensor. And yeah I can look if we are close!
@JoshTheDoshSkateboarding4 ай бұрын
@@channelofmadness3182 Thanks for the reply. It fired off easy start but died after, tried the ignition switch which didnt work and have a crank sensor on the way. Dad said the easy start firing it up would bleed the system? Ill do some research on the timing sesnor, going to try put some fuel in the filter directly tommorow and see what happens
@channelofmadness31824 ай бұрын
@@JoshTheDoshSkateboarding fuel in filter is a good idea. But worth replacing filter at same time. Don’t want to be taking filters off too often on these vans. And crank sensor is timing sensor on those I believe! So that’s perfect. And yes once the engine runs, usually, it draws fuel. Unless there’s a broken pipe or blockage.

hi please can you help/advise me in any way would be very much appreciated, recently bought a mk7 transit with hunting issues, bought a new pressure relief/regulator valve etc and tried to do the learns through forscan, i can successfully pass the fuel pump learn but pilot learn keeps failing due to idle speed outside of test limit (error code 80) i have tried numerous times and keep getting the same code thrown around pressure point 4/5, im using an els27 adapter. im lost with this now really would appreciate some help or advise to get me through the pilot learn! thank you.
@channelofmadness3182 Жыл бұрын
Hello, I have not experienced that one before. Do you have any codes for cam / crank sensor? Very odd on these for idle RPM to change, I’m thinking it could be a weak signal from a timing sensor, failing that: sometimes it’s good ( if thr vehicle drives) to use the vehicle for a while and come back to it, let it have some time to think about what it’s done haha but if you’ve replaced new pressure relief and suction control and it’s still not idling properly, you could try swapping parts back ( mainly suction control) and do a learn. Then put new parts back on and do another learn. This will bring the parameters closer to the new pressure relief. Then with the second learn and new suction control valve it should idle good enough to do it again.

@@channelofmadness3182 thank you for taking the time out to get back to me i really appreciate it, i don't have any codes showing for cam / crank shaft sensor but i do get a code showing up for maf sensor reading higher than normal, i have since cleaned the maf and map sensor along with my egr valve, i was thinking to reset my pcm to erase current learns / adaptions since i've now cleaned them and then try to do the pilot learn once again? the new suction control has failed recently not allowing me to exceed over 1000rpms i changed back to my old one and it seems to be running a lot better altogether but still wont allow me to pass the pilot learn and i've got the cog light (pcm) showing on my dash. im lost with it.

what did you clean the maf wit? has to be electrical cleaner that completely evaporates or it could also give codes :) ... a complete reset maybe the option ... how bad was the EGR when you cleaned it? @@rossfadez5959

@@channelofmadness3182 i used MAF cleaner from an auto parts store, made sure it was completely dry before re fitting, also my egr valve wasn't bad at all but still gave it a good clean anyway to be sure, do you know if disconnecting my battery terminals and joining them together will fully reset my pcm/ecu earsing all adaption or would i need to run it through a programming software?

I would advise software way myself. It’s what it’s built to do :) I’m on my phone at the minute so struggling to see our previous convo but I’ll have another look soon and see if I can figure it out. It’s very hard through internet but maybe something will trigger my mind 😆
