In case anyone was wondering what the Pavement reference is, after Joe sings "My best friend is an alien", a voice says "I know him, and he is". It's a reference to the Pavement song 'Stereo', where a similar line ("I know him, and he does") is used.

Love it . Fuck notes and chords and structure, Bowen is talking about guitar effects, how to make it sound wonky and weird, expression / improvisation and vibes. Music is just noise, it's not this sacred verse chorus verse thing. Idles really treat it as art and that's my favourite thing in the world
