How much water do you add when you grind urad dal? How much water do you add when you grind rice?
@pradepatips7 күн бұрын
There is no measurement for water. Because it depends on how long the rice or urad dal is soaked. You have to add water little by little. Make sure when you turn it on, batter should rotate, it should not get stuck.

Hi, what speed did you use? My motor overheats and shuts off.
@pradepatips11 ай бұрын
You can use cold water. So, your motor does not heat up. If you see my video for urad dal I started with speed 8 and then decreased to speed 7. For grinding Rice and Poha I started with speed 9 and then decreased to speed 8. Tip - Make sure you mix it with that stick on the lid as shown in the video. It helps you to grind fast.

At what speed do you grind and for how long?
@pradepatips3 жыл бұрын
Always start with low speed and then to high speed. When you touch the batter you can feel the texture of batter, then you know its ready. For me it took less than half hour.

Brilliant mate - thx for sharing. I’ve read you have to be careful not to let the batter get hot with a high speed blender- should I add an ice cube or will that dilute the batter? Cheers from London
@pradepatips2 жыл бұрын
No need to add ice cube, because we are not going to run the blender for so long. If you are planning to do more batter , then take a break if you think it's hot. The ratio I used , I didn't face that problem. 😊

If you think it's hot, then try with ice water instead of ice cubes

I am looking to buy Vitamix. I saw other videos by you where you use the traditional grinder for grinding batters for idli/dosa/vada. In your experience, which gives good batter? :) Also, for idli, we generally grind the rice a bit coarsely. can we do this in vitamix? Thanks in advance! :)

Yes Vitamix is really good . 👍 Of course there is a difference when you use grinder. But vitamin is very easy for cleaning. Work is done in 30 min to 40min. Just make sure you watch full video for tips . I don't see any difference. If you follow tips from my video 😊👍

How many minutes do we need to grind the rice in speed 8 ?
@pradepatips2 жыл бұрын
It depends upon how long you soak rice and quality of rice. I soaked it over night. So not more time for grinding . If you watch my video I have given some tips, how to check and when the batter is ready.👍😊
