The host did a great job here. She didn't use any filler words and she actually let the guest talk and finish his ideas fully. A+ work.

As a 10+ year long student of Ido, I am very grateful for this podcast. He is a unique and special individual who's impacted many lives and you did a phenomenal job interviewing most likely because you are, unlike some interviewers, also a student. Much love.

Perhaps the best interview/discussion I have heard on YT! Ido Portal's sharing of continous flow of insights reveals immense work of reflection behind words, ideas and concepts, that is the conscious ongoing effort to disc.over. Vika, at minute 2:02:10 you say "the brain cannot tell the difference between Imagination & Reality". How should it? It's not designed by Nature for that. You miss seeing that a spoon (brain) however often in contact with soup (Reality) does not get the 'taste', whereas a tongue (deep mind/heartmind) gets the taste immediately. This is a most important difference! And, yes in.deed, surprise, surprise, 'Life is the training for Life'.

What a brilliant interview. It's really one-of-a-kind among the conversations with Ido on KZbin. Other interviewers seem to misunderstand him and frame their questions in ways that give that away, creating a dynamic in which I feel Ido is educating someone who isn't ready to learn. Fine enough for audience members who hear him, and what good fortune to live in this era in which we can learn from afar regardless of the finer points of the interview, but what a treat it is to hear an interviewer attuned to the same frequency as Ido. As a listener I got to go beyond listening simply to what Ido has to say and enjoy a true conversation. Great work Vika. Thank you for sharing!

Once again realised how much I missed listening Ido freely talk about life in general. Great host, great guest, great episode. Thank you 🙏

I've observed a certain resistance in discussions about defining who qualifies as a teacher. In my view, the focus should be less on the duration of learning from someone and more on the profound internal changes that result from interactions, regardless of their duration - be it a brief conversation or a decades-long relationship. I've noticed a reluctance in Ido to acknowledge certain individuals as teachers unless they fit a specific mold, often seeming to favor those who are mystical or non-famous, and sometimes even those with familial connections. In his discussions, I've sensed a reluctance to give credit to others, especially those considered 'competitors,' and a unique perspective that sets him apart. Take, for instance, Jozef Frucek, who Ido once recognized as a teacher more than a decade ago during his own workshop. However, as Jozef developed his own practice, and stopped being this mystical Slovakian person, Ido stopped mentioning him, and it seems that similar concepts that Jozef was teaching since 20 years, such as a more poetry approach, including adaptability, exploration, coordination, communication, diversity, novelty, mystery, through movements, with yourself, and in relation to other and the world, are presented as if they were exclusively Ido's innovation. I've observed that Ido could potentially broaden the conversation by acknowledging the inspiring work of individuals like Jozef Frucek. While Ido often expends energy critiquing the perceived emptiness of the fitness industry, incorporating different perspectives could contribute to a more holistic dialogue. While I appreciate Ido's remarkable abilities, there seems to be an element of ego at play. It might be blunt to say, but I'm inclined to believe that Ido's pen might be shorter than his incredible physical talents.

Also, I want to mention, from my opinion, he's such a poor communicator in relation to discussing with one other. His answer to a question could be: "this is not a good question, let me rephrase it to be a better question". Instead of understanding someone else perspective, he will quickly go with how flawed the other person perspective is, and how is own is much better and much deeper. He uses a lot of "should", big red flag in my eyes. Great mover, great thinker, but poor communicator in relation to another person point of view. You have example such as Esther Perel, with infinite wisdom, and knowledge, but with such grace and curiosity in relation to someone else perspective/opinion. With her, there's no hierarchy of thoughts. This is quality communication, in my eyes. Maybe Ido could get "teaching" from her. Much needed.

It is good he is discussing some of the things people have been unknowingly criticising him for. Maybe it will help dissolve some of the misconceptions.... or not😅
@maxd1744

I believe the people, who are criticising him, are the people who are not ready to learn (yet). People will always keep criticising each other because everyone's perception of the world is different, no perception being undoubtedly true or even real, and they are not conscious of it in every moment. People want to have certainty about a false truth, their truth, and thus stagnation. They don't see what he sees, thus they fake seeing by making up beliefs that invoke the least suffering on them. They lie.

I really like what he stands for and teaches. What I don’t like is how stubborn he seems. He doesn’t seem to vibe with interviewers and the flow they are offering. He seems to really reject others and critique the concepts interviewers propose. In this interview he brings up “letting go” and when he goes deeper into this it sounds more like “stop it” and “that doesn’t work”. It looks like there’s a lot of emotional stress happening in him and he has focused all his will into training his own senses. That’s just my opinion and I think people may pick up on these sorts of things and throw the baby out with the bath water.

That is an interesting conversation that I certainly will listen to another time again. I wonder if this is part of his own practise I mean making it public what could be just his private agenda.

The guy who talked about his ex for 45 minutes on the first date WAS SAYING, was, in fact, YELLING“I am not available.” Remember the joke about the guy stuck on the roof of his house, while the flood waters were rising all around him, drowning and showing up in Heaven and asking God, “Why didn’t you save me?” even though he had turned down a boat, a helicopter, and whatever else. Yeah. The info was there, loud and clear, just like the rescue vehicles were.
