Upper Ten was the first and only one I own from the House Lubin, I love the brand and the story behind it. Great review, I love how you elaborate on the background and the descriptive words you use.

Great description. Works in winter but has a lightness to it. Amber note but not an amber frag. Leather, spice. Tantalizing but never commits to any direction. Hard to describe. Versatile. Masculine. Class.

I will open with the fact that I adore Idole de Lubin and then, of course, I must speak the profane words "Bentley for Men Absolut" and I'll avoid the stinging glares, occasional sharp projectile and see myself out. LOL. I must admit to really enjoying the historic anecdotes Marcelo. I still watch Time Team, Cosmos and Connections whenever I get an opportunity but I digress. Thanks again.

I'm all about the history and motivation. I love understanding what makes it work and why. I'm a big fan of these brands that have these long history that are intertwined to historical moments...it's exciting to uncover. For me it brings the fragrance to life. And yes I have heard that there's a comparison to Bentley for Men Absolut (but wouldn't this be a dupe to the classic that is Idole🤔). In truth I haven't smelt Bentley, so don't know how close they are?? Good to hear from you Steve, always enjoy reading your insights👊🏽💫

i am a woman and i wear sweet, florar, gourmand fragrances but i also wear incident diplomatique (jovoy), private label and Idole. I wear everything it smells good to me depending on my mood....let's stop with masculine...feminine....it doesn't make any sense at this point. Don't you think?🙂 Anyway..I also want to say that you are a great storyteller...

Thanks for sharing Sara and great to hear that Idole is one that is in your collection and enjoy. I agree with you 100%, perfume (smell) is genderless and we should be governed by what we enjoy. I have a number of friends (and new to niche subscribers) that are still 'hard wired' to think "Masculine/Feminine", hence I find that I need to provide some reference markers to assist with the translation of the smell. Appreciate you jumping into the conversation and sharing your experience💫

Im not a collector so my, kind of, palate, choice of fragrances is limited - I regularly buy, and sell things I get bored of even if I used only 10ml. Now at home I have 9 fragrances and I consider my way in niche as a way to expand my skills, palate, knowledge ans used fragrances accordingly - kind od as tools. Now. I'm not buying Idole de Lubin because for the price it's missing the performance a lot. I like it, I just know I can get way better fragrances in the same category for the same price.

@@TheNicheFragranceCollector not really, I buy and sell whenever I get bored and just buy different perfumes of the same category/purpose. Right now I have: Kilian Dark Lord, Fahrenheit, Fahrenheit Parfum, Megamare, Baraonda, Xerjoff Mefisto and Zefiro, Anouage Epic and Green Irish Tweed. I won't get rid of the regular Fahrenheit or GIT because these are 10/10 for my wife :)

Awesome collection Sebastien… You’ve got something for every season right there. My dad says that not even in seven lifetimes will I use all the fragrances that I have. So it’s smart to have a comfortable collection that you know what you’re going to use no matter the occasion…. My problem is that I’ve crossed the point of no return😵 so I’m going all in!!!!
